So, if you throw Miller in there, are they VEDGE? The way they've been playing of late, you may want to include Miller, swap the order of Ed and Epenesa and use the first name for both...

Interchangeable with pass rusher.

Yes I remember when you played a 3-4 or a 4-3 with Lineman and the linebackers blitzed an rushed off the edge... Bryce Paup was an LB and bigger than some of our DLs... Cornelius Bennett... etc... now you have literally 4 LBs on the field, 2 small, 2 larger (Edge Rushers, I believe Von was drafted as an LB) ... and an extra DB... to combat the pass happy NFL... seems like there is a bit of resurgence in the running game as of late... I wonder if we see adjustments in the next offseason or two.

Are you sure it's not Dr. Ed Gicewicz (sounded like 'goo-sev-ich')?  One of Van Miller's trusted spotters in the broadcast booth, Miller acknowledged the crew assisting him every game. 😁

This, most nickel defenses are pretty much a 3-3-5 look. It just gives you an under or over look with 4 down lineman in some way. The Edge is your pass rusher/drop zone player. It eliminates the designation of DE as well, making lineman and qbs have to identify the edge on pass rush situations

Yes

it also gives flexibility such as a blitzing DB, the FB become a LB, the LB becoming a SE, the other DE drops as a LB

There seems to be a new position in football over recent years, something called EDGE (not Edge, mind you, but EDGE).  I think it's what we used to call Defensive End.

It's been a few minutes since I was in grammar school, but if the letters are all capitalized this indicates that it is an acronym.  The mystery: what is it an acronym for?

After considerable thought, I have come to the idea that it stands for Early Detection Game Exploder.  But I'm not sure.

What do you folks think?  This is really important, and since we have no Miami Haiku weeks left this season, time to put your creative minds to other constructive endeavors.

"Edge" is something that the Buffalo Bills, do not do a good job, of defending.
