It's more about how they feel about him than anything, the ones that have been here for several seasons probably think he should have already gotten it at least once.

It's not about Josh winning the league MVP award. 
It's about his O-line saying "you're the MVP to us".  It was engraved with all their names.  It's a "this is how we feel about you" gift.
Dion was asked about it in his interview, said it's something Josh will keep in his house like a trophy and never wear and that's cool.

That's white gold, probably palladium white gold.  And I'm sure those diamonds are genuine. 

C'mon, Dion is getting paid like $640k per game, McGovern $231k, they aren't gifting their man lab grown diamonds.

You could be right.  The last gift I remember him getting them that was public knowledge was when he got them all sets of golf clubs and memberships to Craig Burn which as a golfer myself I thought was an awesome gift idea!  But that might have been a couple Christmas's ago
