Fruits and vegetables are called produce because they are what the land produced.   Producing is still producing.   There are better examples.   The problem with resign and re-sign is that they both involve a change in work circumstance........they aren't used in an entirely different nature.

I know the difference. It's mainly just that the word is the same but have different meanings

It's that time of year again.

Everyone is excited about Free Agency.

The league calendar is about to begin.

The draft isn't too far away.

The future is bright.

Just as we take our first breath of spring air, we log into TBD and we see:

"We need to resign DaQuan Jones."

"I can't believe we resigned Taylor Rapp."

No.

"Re-sign" means to sign again.

"Resign" means to voluntarily leave a job. It means the opposite of re-sign.

Cheers, Bills Fans, to re-signing our best players and winning the Super Bowl. 🍻

My OCD agrees with you 100%. 😂

Anyone complaining about this is just stuck up!

Do your low standards also apply to the Bills performance? Or do you want it both ways?

It’s not about being stuck up, it’s about knowing the difference. I almost always just ignore that stuff here, but if someone is sensitive about it, maybe that says something?   🤷‍♂️

I’m just funny about that stuff. If I see I’ve made a typo, I’ll generally fix it. It bothers me, personally. If other people don’t care, that is their prerogative.

For tomorrow can we cover "our" vs "are"?

I’m sensing a pop quiz in our future.

But by your response, you are not ignoring and you do care. People that care about such things, just are nit picking. Baecuse I cna tpye wrods ni ayn oredr adn yuo cna stlil rade tihs. So certainly people can understand they ment re-sign instead of resign!

Someone started a thread about something I generally just ignore. If I called out everything on this board there would be no time to talk about the Bills.

Personally, I'd be very happy if this were the only thing people got wrong this time of year.

Also, the following is understood in every free agent post:

Kick the tires

Don't overpay

Team friendly deal

1 year prove it deal

on the cheap

1 year vet minimum with incentives

kick the can

You left out

Brings something to the table, and

Still has something in the tank.

And while we’re at it — a reminder that In the U.S.A, it's offense and defense, not offence and defence! Unless you live in Canada or Europe, in which case, cary on with your weird spellings.

I favour your point.

It’s not a grammar issue…it’s literacy issue.

You cannot have your grammar bunny and eat it, too.
