Who cares man it's front office personnel, not a coach! Let him interview away.  And fingers crossed he gets it too, not only good for him and his family but that's is two extra 3rd round picks for the Bills!

I hope he gets it ASAP.

(Jim Rome listeners will understand) In Al Davis voice: Mark, this is your father, hire Terrance Gray!

Someone claimed we'd get 2  3rd Round Comp Picks if he's hired?

Absolutely! We would get two 3rd round picks in back to back drafts!

I fully expect the Raiders to keep their interim GM and Head Coach.  The interim GM is the guy Davis initially wanted to hire but second guessed himself.  That said, Gray isn't necessarily the Rooney rule candidate because Champ Kelly the interim GM isnt white.

They changed the rule.  Even if your interim GM or coach is a minority, they must interview a minority candidate from outside the organization.  I didn't know that until someone recently explained why the Raiders couldn't just sign Pierce to a new contract until they interview a minority candidate from outside the organization.

Updated Rooney Rule:

Clubs must conduct an in-person interview with at least one external minority candidate for any GM or head coaching interview. Clubs must continue to consider multiple diverse candidates. Clubs must maintain complete records and provide them to the league upon the Commissioner's request.

Rooney Rule required interview imho.  Has been primarily a scout and assistant player personnel guy to date.   Is 3rd in line to Beane here now.  Director of player personnel at this time.

Based on what?

Dang it!  I bet he takes Beane with him....ughhhhh

Yeah, but Grande Gonad Gray doesn't have the same ring that Big Baller Beane does. So we still win if you think about it.

agreed.  should have to wait h til after SB foe requests with anyone.   Too distracting.

who is distracted by the player personnel guy sitting for a few hours for an interview?

don’t be obtuse.  Clearly not that.  But asking for coordinators is distracting.

It's a thread about the pro personnel guy, not any of the Bills coordinators, so the comment of "this ****" happening during the playoffs doesn't apply.

even if they were interviewing a coordinator, I have no reason to believe that any player would really be distracted by that.  they all know it's a business.

fans are constantly projecting their thoughts and feelings on players--I get that.  but there's no reason at all to think they care.

We would. In next year's draft.

Problem is the calendar is too tight for that. It puts hiring teams waaay behind the 8 ball for free agency and to a lesser extent for the draft too. This new rule that you can't interview coaches before 21 Jan is as far as they can afford to go.

If Gray gets the job that would be 4 young GM’s Brandon Beane hired.

Brian Gaine

Joe Schoen

Dan Morgan

Brian Gaine is a Parcells guy though.
