Makes one wonder why we haven't gotten more from the team during that time span then.

That seems to implicate coaching as well.

We get it you dont like the coaches... you don't have to bring it up everywhere.  Celebrate this and josh and save the yeah buts for a different time...

Oh I'm sorry, it seems that bringing up his being limited by coaching actually does him a service in that department.

Nice hyperbole otherwise!

As you were.

Nice of you to point to other posters however.  Nothing substantive to add to the conversation otherwise then?

;)

Can’t believe no one mentioned Allen was mentored by Nathan Peterman and started his career with Kelvin Benjamin and Clay as his WR1 and TE.

Mahomes got to start his career after sitting and learning from Alex Smith and was coached by Andy Reid and got to start with a great OL and have Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce for weapons.

The circumstances in which Allen got to start his career on a rebuilding team clearing cap space are not remotely the same as the luxury Mahomes did on a playoff ready team with elite weapons and coaching around him.

And Mahomes started a game as a rookie.

Allen setting the NFL record despite the dumpster fire he had to work with on a rebuilding franchise his first 2 seasons is quite remarkable.

MUCH more impressive than Mahomes. Trust fund baby vs street urchin.

Very cool, but starting most of your first year compared to being a back up for 15 games is quite an advantage for a record like this.

Not Allen's fault Mahomes didn't start or get thrown to the wolves his rookie year.

It’s no one’s fault. Just the reality of the situation.

Mahomes has 89 starts in the regular season. 221 total TD’s.

Josh has 87 starts in the regular season. 205 total TD’s.

Not the metric now is it?  The stat is the first six seasons not a 6 season snap shot. If you want to go that route you would have to compare records of teams played against quality of O line, receiving corps, coaches etc. but that’s not what’s being discussed here.

Aaron rodgers and Peyton manning are two of the best qbs in history and they have 3 total Super Bowl wins in 35 seasons.

LOL

You've just gotta love the things people put up in defense of all things Bills.

Add-in Brees and it's 4 in 50 seasons.

And Mahomes was handed the keys to a Ferrari.  Josh had a Yugo with bald tires his first 2 years.

What’s funny about that? Lol you implied ‘well they have a great qb and it’s embarrassing they haven’t won a Super Bowl in 5 years’…the best qbs in history frequently go a decade+ without winning one.  Some great qbs never win one

I mean you know why. 😂And it’s an insanely impressive number.

to be fair to the old guys, it would have been crazy to see what guys like Steve Young and Randall Cunningham could have done in this era. But Allen is a nightmare to game plan against.

Celebrate a win over a team like the Jets?

Well, OK.  I'll be quite a bit more jacked if we can even make the Eagles game a good game.

Beating the Jets, yeah, sorry, at home with a QB that's quite likely never to seriously start anywhere beginning next season doesn't quite cut it for me.

I'm not quite sure that's what I implied.

It wasn't what I meant to imply if so.

What's funny about it is how people continually throw up analagous historical facts as relevant exceptions, except that they have contexts that don't even match what's going on here.  Give Rodgers and Manning the defenses that Allen's had and then it's an accurate comp.  Since that can never happen, it would seem that it's not an accurate/apples-to-apples comp.

There are endless such exceptions.  It's always amusing what gets thrown up.

Never good enough for some people
