Question About Josh Allen’s Elbow

Imagine being Josh Allen and having every single decision you make micro-analyzed.  Maybe he wants to practice his sliding and doesn't want turf burns on his elbows. 🩹 Or maybe he's hiding track marks 🤦‍♂️

Or maybe he's cold.  Josh has actually worn long sleeve shirts to practice a fair bit.  68 in Orchard Park right now, can feel chilly when you exercise then stop.

This.  When I come to Buffalo from Ga in the summer, I bring some long sleeves.

To me only Allen could really answer if there is a loss of arm strength with two UCL injuries in the past 5 years.

Our media would have to ask an open ended question - Josh has there been any loss of pure arm strength with the UCL injuries?

Instead they love serendipity stories and fate and destiny and soap opera narratives.

Maybe it's just me, but his elbow looks sore in that video.

You’re kidding right. Eman.  Did you notice the originator of the thread surprisingly has only 5 posts?  Hmmm.  Not that aJets/Fish/ or Cheats fan would ever troll a Bills fan board and try to plant seeds of doubt.  I’m sure that’s not the case here.

Things that you go, hmmm.  Good song from the 90’s.

The silly thing is when he comes out on MNF and lights up that offense, all the negative, worried, concerns go away.  The Jets defense is one of the best in the league, but their offense won’t be humming in week 1.  Where I am more concerned is in the 2nd meeting in OP with the Jets.  By then, their offense will be in stride and that will be a tougher game.

Let’s have a discussion about Josh Allen’s elbow and whether we should be concerned at all moving forward.

As of now, all we know is that he left the practice field for 20min or so a couple weeks back to get “Stretched out” and then he returned to practice and resumed his normal activities after that. Since then we have been told that there are no issues and that everything is fine, which includes fully practicing and practicing well.

What I have noticed though is that since Josh was removed from practice he has exclusively practiced with a white long sleeved shirt, effectively not showing us his elbow at all. He played the Red & Blue scrimmage with short sleeves which was right before the incident the next Monday. Let’s remember last year, as soon as Josh hurt his elbow against the Jets, he played with a long sleeve shirt in every single game after that because he was wearing a brace. It doesn’t appear during practice that he’s wearing anything under the sleeve, but why has he’s been wearing long sleeves when it’s been 80 degrees out? He’s never done that in the past. He barely ever wore long sleeves during the previously 4.5 seasons in his career.

Just wondering….Sorry to be negative but it’s a legit concern for me

Great detective work Shamus!

I notice his pads cover his knees also. Could be covering areas frequently effected by psoriasis. 😜

Next up: why is Von Miller always so upbeat and Diggs often moody? Enquiring minds want to know.

Laugh all you want to but he has not practiced without sleeves since the stretching “incident”. We’re talking about a guy who said he almost didn’t wear sleeves during the Patriots wildcard playoffs game which was 0 degrees outside. Now he where’s sleeves to every practice in 80 degree heat and just coincidentally started wearing them every practice, which hasn’t been the case all of training camp until that point. Maybe it’s nothing and I hope it’s nothing but being that I’ve partially torn my own UCL, from experience I can tell you it took almost 2 years to get to 100%

Was it last week when he threw that ridiculous pass(I think it was to Diggs) that was trending and the main culprit of it treding was because his "arm strength" is what made the throw so absurd.

Despite the sarcastic comments, I think the OP is making a legitimate observation.

When the UCL injury occurred, there were many concerns that it could be a long-term/career type problem.

It clearly bothered him up until the season ended in January, and there is no guarantee he's just going to be OK with an offseason to rest.

From reports, he's taken at least 2-3 hard hits in training camp.  And it was after one of these incidents that he went back with the training staff, and since that point has suddenly started wearing sleeves at all times.  Maybe it's a precaution.  Maybe it's a coincidence.  Or maybe there was a flare-up.  You really can't expect the coaching staff to tell us if this was the case.

For all the videos of Josh "slinging it" all over the field, he was doing it last year too after the injury.  The issues that cropped up where mostly with short-range accuracy, and times he needed to adjust his arm angle.

It could be this and if so as you say they aren't gonna let it get out so defenders would try get a few shots in to take limit Allen.

It could also just be he took some shots and has a bruise upper arm and or elbow.  Could be a grass burn they have wrapped and know the media frenzy it would generate.

It could also be the skin graft was torn from the elbow area that you can clearly see the bionic elbow Josh had implanted this offseason.   I would have embedded the voice over from the 6 million dollar man just we all know Josh is worth more than Lee majors.  Talk about inflation.

This is to address your concern over the 2nd meeting in OP.  I have no crystal ball and never met anyone with unmistakable clairvoyance.  So my take is yes the Jets offense will be more robust that game.  However our offense will have had evolved a large degree as well and to be honest I think the Jets defense gets pùnched in the mouth repeatedly and might be the future reason sauce gardener signs a contract to be a Bill. I mean if I'm gonna use my imagination of what possibilities there are I'm gonna tailor it to benefit the Bills long term.  And I do like seeing Bills punch opponents in the mouth offensively speaking.

If he is getting stint done on his elbow and surrounding area you would see the red marks on his arm.

And also there is a tool you can use to soften the area and it makes red circles 🔴

My thoughts are he is wearing the long shirt so you do not see those marks.

Basically the are doing work in that area and they are not showing it.

WOW!!!!!!!
