It was actually 39th

Actually the o-line has taken a huge dive  this year.  Scroll down and you will see Sharp had Bills at #8 (not 28) last year preseason:

21. Buffalo Bills

A year ago we were optimistic about Buffalo’s offensive line, ranking the unit eighth overall, but their placement has fallen to 21st this year. Spencer Brown must improve his production for this unit to surpass expectations. Brown ranked 27th out of 32 right tackles in pressure rate allowed in 2022.

21st feels about right. I was never high on the OL going into last season as is well documented. I think they will be better, but a middle of the league unit. Wouldnt surprise me if they climb a few places by the season's end. But they won't be top 10 or anywhere close to that.

Probably because most people in the media have always loved Roger Saffold. I have never, ever, got it. Even when he was in his prime he was massively overrated.

Give me another player in the NFL that's massively overrated.

Here's mine....Jalen Ramsey.

Historically Percy Harvin. He got waaaay too much money from multiple teams. Adam Theilen was another one. His big years of production were a result of Stefon Diggs getting doubled almost every snap. Kolton Miller is on my list currently (Raiders left tackle) and Juju Smith-Schuster.

Doesn't happen often but I really hope you are wrong on this one. Maybe a miracle happens. Dawkins consistently plays his best football, Torrence emerges as a young star, Brown gets it together after a full off-season and McGovern keeps on progressing and somehow it becomes top 10 unit. A man can hope :)

Anyway, looking back, do you think Beane could've realistically done more this off-season?

I think Thielen is legit.  One of the better #2's in the league still, with Jefferson (a better WR than Diggs) on his opposite side. He's a solid producer: 2400 yards, 134 1st downs, 30 TDs on 211 catches on a lot fewer targets since they traded Diggs.

Looking at the best WRs the % doubled the numbers (depending on who is reporting them) ranges from 20-36% in top 5 in 2022 and10-11% 2021.   Either way, the vast majority of time they are in single coverage.

That's probably maybe right.  About middling.

As I've been saying around here since the moves were made: they are all Band-Aids.

No substantial improvement, or commitment to making it great.

Compare us to the Eagles.  Wow.

Yea you thought he was better than Diggs. He ain't.

I actually agree he is a legit #2. But that isn't all he was rated as. At one point people talked about him as a top 10 WR. That was madness.

Our OL improvements depends on RT and LG.

And RG imo. Bates is who he is.  Decent- not much better than replacement level. If Torrance can provide us with “good” play at RG, it should help out Brown, who has never played next to a “good OLman”

Jefferson is for sure.

A few mad individuals' passing opinions don't overall make Thielen overrated, I think.  He was top 10 for 2 seasons by the numbers though--outpacing Digs by not a few yards.

He was never a top 10 receiver. He had a couple of seasons of big production that flattered who he is as a player. It wasn't a few mad individuals. Multiple people thought he was a legit #1 and he was never that. Hence he was overrated.

Perhaps for 2 seasons he was overrated by some.  He's a solid player since.
