Best possible picks at 27?

That time is a problem for Addison IMO. It isn't end of the world bad bit what I have struggled with him is what is the special trait. He is kind of all around solid.... but where is the special? In my head I have been saying "you felt this way about AJ Brown and ended up giving him a high 2 and you should have stuck with your gut that he waa 1st rounder." He ran a 4.49.

I dunno. I'm not being reactionary and moving him down.... but I will go back to some of the film.

when he was in pITT he was pretty productive. great red zone route runner. just a solid player. hes a slower robert woods / possession wr in nfl. should be rd 2-3 pick

I’m starting to think Bijan Robinson could be a great pick if he is there at #27. Special talent. I see the Saquan Barkley comparison. He’s a 3 down back who can catch and run crisp routes and is a great blocker.

not good in pass pro - yet

If he is there I wouldn't hate it. I doubt there is a possible pick I'm gonna love at #27 tbh. The more of this class I watch, the less I like it. Does make me more inclined towards guys you think can come in and be good early even if their ceiling is lower. Cos I don't think this draft is gonna kick out too many all pros when it is all said and done.

If I were to tell you that 5 guys in this draft eventually became all-pros, who would you guess?

i dont know that JSN will be there at 27. No question if hes still the 2021 guy you are getting a top shelf slot receiver who is plug and play. I think he may be a Raven, esp if as I suspect Lamar is history in Baltimore. My issue with him is I see Shakir as our slot guy and he can be a good one. So I would prefer a wr who can bring something different as a playmaker. Also just throwing it out there but some observers feel that JSN will not be the same YAC guy in the pros. If there is a drop off (reasonable to expect) the question is how much.

The thing with AJ Brown that mitigated his "OK - not great" speed was his physicality.  Dude is rocked up and powerful.  Addison is quite thin, but at the same time, rules don't allow too much contact with WRs except near the line.  If he can get off the line, he seems to have the quickness and route running chops to get open and the hands to catch the ball reliably.

Is Addison worth pick 27?  Is really anybody that will be available a better option?  I don't know, but I do think anyone they select is going to be sort of a consolation prize given the general weakness of the class.

Thoughts?

Trade pick.

If staying put?

Flowers or Torrence

I’d love JSN but he isn’t gonna be there

Trading down is easy to say, but you have to find someone willing to move up.  Who would be so enticing that could reasonably be available that some team wants to trade back up into round 1?  I suppose some team might like a QB that hasn't gone yet at that point, but who that would be I don't know.  I think once you get past Anthony Richardson, I don't know that any of the remaining QBs would be enticing enough for someone to move up for, even if it meant gaining 5th year option.

I'm curious who people on this board think would be the best player to take at 27? From all the mocks I've seen, these are the guys who have been mocked to us most frequently. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on these guys.

Jordan Addison WR

Jaylin Hyatt WR

Rashee Rice WR

Bijan Robinson RB

Cyrus O'Torrence OG

Antonio Johnson S

Cody Mauch OT

One of the dumbest things that they could do at 27th is take a WR.  The history for WRs being taken that late contributing immediately is miserable.

I'm curious what people think as to what our starting LB unit looks like going into this season at the moment?

The OL is dicey, but the LB core is non-existent after Milano.  He goes down, LMAO, then what?   Seriously.

The team?

Tennessee.

They have pick 41.

I’d love for a QB to fall, they panic and move up to 27.

What I’d want?

Give them 27 and Oliver for 41 and Jeff Simmons.

He’s the guy we should’ve drafted in 2019. Everything Oliver isn’t, he is.

Unfortunately I think the Titans know that too and wouldn't do that trade.

At 5’11 and 173 lbs, that’s just an okay time.

O’Cyrus is not sexy, but he will absolutely dominate his man.

In the two games I watched, I didn’t think that Torrence really dominated in his blocks.  No doubt he is huge and has power, but I didn’t see many (any?) instances where he blew his man completely off the LOS.

Several WRs had underwhelming workouts.  Addison’s vertical was OK, but nothing special, either.  Kayshon Boutte’s 29” vert was worse than a lot of DEs put up and his 4.5 40 is OK.

Have the TEs gone yet? I keep telling people that if the Bills want offensive playmaker in round 1 the value is most likely going to be at the TE position and not at WR.

I know Dalton Kincaid isn’t doing anything but curious about the other TEs who could go top 3 rounds

A guy I really like for the Bills as a fit is TE Tucker Kraft out of South Dakota State. He’s the small school Michael Mayer very similar games.

I think you could be right.  I’m not seeing a WR is isn’t either small, pigeon-holed to slot only or not particularly fast.  I love Flowers and Downs’ quickness, but Flowers is really small to play outside and Downs is slight and short even in the slot.

If premium positions are QB, WR, OT, CB and DE then I think you are going to need to look at “less premium “ positions at 27 or go defense which is probably not preferable.  A few C/Gs will be of some interest, but that isn’t typically a first round position.  You might see a RT like Darnell Wright available, but again RT isn’t typical for round 1.  Most would not be happy with a RB - the most devalued position.  So, what should they do?

I agree that the value, if they stay put at 27 is not at WR. The value lies on the interior offensive line(Avila, Schmitz), TE(Kincaid, Mayer), DE(Van Ness, Smith, Byron Young, or a LB like Trenton Simpson who the Bills could use all over their defense esp if McDermott plans on being more aggressive

This is exactly why I haven’t said “absolutely not” to Bijan at 27. He is a top 5 player in this draft and would give the Bills one of the best backfields in football. I still prefer WR or OL but I won’t complain about Bijan.

Find the Georgia game and watch him vs Jalen Carter.

I don’t see Addison as 1st round talent- MAYBE second round- like Robert Woods was…But I don’t see him as a better talent than when Woods was drafted…
