Just an honest question on the game outcome

Italian Bills

With Von, one of our three best players this year,  we were good enough to just line up and beat anyone. Without Von, our only hope at the Lombardi is to unleash the full Josh Allen running game. We saw the beginning of that in the fourth quarter yesterday.  I expect 10 first half designed runs by Allen versus the Bengals in two weeks.

We will always get a team's best effort each week. Receiver's seem to make catches against us that are weekly highlight reels. Quarterbacks have their best games against us. Watch them any other week and it's like, "Wow, I wish they would have played like that against us".  We have that target on our team. This has to help prep us for the playoffs. The other issue is that we make mistakes that end up keeping these games closer than they should be.

Agree with you… who play us it seem always on a mission and we add to this mistakes here and there that avoid us to win easily.

A point on Mostert: do you think that with us, him or some other top back, could make the difference or because our weak OL they would “come back on earth” if i can say this ?

So you are saying that the distance between the two teams is not so big after all ?

Could they become a problem for the Division in the next years ?

What i think is that with a better OL and run game, we could be unstoppable, to everyone, while they could not improve the QB position, Tue is an average player, Josh is elite.

Allen is a better QB than Tua.  No question.

That said, the rest of Miami's offensive personnel is probably better than ours.  Tua isn't a world-beater, but he's definitely good enough to beat us with Hill and Waddle.  He already did it once and he nearly did it again last night.  Miami is likely to be a problem for the foreseeable future.

We won!!! Do you think Dolphins are saying at least we didn't  get blown out? No they are saying damn we lost three in a row

 GO BILLS ❤️

No, they’re saying they lost because of the refs and ice balls, and Josh Allen is a trash human and overrated player.

Hi fellas.

I would like to ask you this:

have you been a little disappointed that we didn’t destroyed Miami like maybe everybody was thinking this past week ?

I mean, obviously it was a great, huge, fundamental win for our season, in a comeback way… but the fact that in this kind of weather we won just at the last second, it was a little irritating or not at all ?

Winning at the last second it’s always a pleasure, especially against the hated fish, but burning them in a blowout would have been a strong signal also, to the entire League.

Don’t you think ? What’s your take ?

Personally, I think expecting to destroy Miami, under the conditions we played, was unrealistic.

Miami is a well-coached team with elite talent on offense and good defense. They improved their D since the last time we played by adding Chubb.  They had their "backs against the wall" having lost 2 in a row, had heard a lot of crap talk about not being able to play in cold weather, and came out ready to rumble and prove the doubters wrong.

The field was a bit slick, which favors the offense over defenders (who must react).  We are missing two key pieces on defense - Von Miller for the season, and Jordan Phillips for who-knows-how-long, with a 3rd (Ed Oliver) playing injured.

I'm happy we won.  I didn't expect a blowout.

To do the Dolphins justice, I think that's what their fans are saying.  I'll put it out there that I think they are overrated fans who think it's funny to force the opposing players to risk heatstroke, which kind of makes them trashy in my book.

Are any of the Dolphins players or coaches really saying this?

And the same was said about NE and Brady for years.

Difference is the Bills have not dominated anyone for a while

Miami is a good team I’m very pleased with the win. Allen lit them up and I loved to see it. I want bills to win every game by 30 points and my heart would appreciate it but it’s not going to happen. First place 11-3 love it. Now next week if we win last second last FG against bears…another story. Happy for win but matchup wise that should be double digit W

I love this honestly.   It’s hard to manage expectations and it’s possible the Bills make it more challenging to manage than some other teams.

My take: some teams match up really well and others have your number.   Dolphins and Jets seem to know how to play well against the Bills and given their decent records they are good teams.   I don’t know that it’s about domination for me but more consistent execution.   I don’t necessarily expect TDs every possession but field position changes at the very least!  I don’t expect three and outs every defensive series but 7,8,9 yard runs every first down can not happen.  And then the brutal special teams gaffes….I’m not so sure that wasn’t a called punt block from coaching by the way….. and why that would need to be called in that moment or any for that matter is beyond me given the offense we are supposed to have at our disposal.

Anyway I think history mandates we can’t know what to expect from this team…regardless of what era.   The word was Bills were unstoppable and got stopped.  Then it was Bills can’t win the one score game and then…they are gutting it out and rattle off 5 straight in closer games.

Who knows but for now their record has them #1 and that’s pretty darn good!

Handle business is the expectation regardless of how just handle the job at hand and all is well.

Go Bills!

Absolutely!! Plenty of people on finheaven blaming refs for loss.

https://finheaven.com/threads/disgusted-by-the-refs.376255/

Going crazy on Twitter too.

Others talking about how trashy we are as a fan base because of throwing snowballs.

And that Josh Allen is a trash human because he told a dolphins fan to go home after the game (there was more to that story of course).

I'm sure it's been said - but division games are generally tough, and Miami is legit. Waddle & Hill are the best tandem in the league (imo).

The expectation that we're just going to blow out good teams is over the top (and I'm guilty of that too).  We'd better gear up for the years ahead - as good as JA is and as good as Beane is at building a good roster, we're going to have some fierce division battles.  The Jets & Miami in particular will be really good for awhile.

Admitting that Hill and Waddle are top, i wouldn’t never trade for one of them for Diggs.

The Dolphins are no. 2 in passing yards and no. 4 in passing touchdowns.  Tua is 8-4 with 3200 passing yards and 24 TDs and a rating of 124.  He has had QB ratings in the 130's this season.   It was an intra division game where all bets are off.

These are not the struggling Dolphins any longer.

That said the Bills have some work to do including the need to press receivers off the line- especially key targets like Hill,  no excuse not to.  They can still use some more discipline lessons on how not to shoot one's self in the foot.  Lastly the obvious like OL and DL, especially against the run.

11-3, but disjointed.

Right now a team that is definitely a Super Bowl Contender but not one that strikes fear like they did in 2020 and 2021.

The only thing the opposition is worried about is Josh Allen.

How soon we forget 7-6 after 13 games last season. I think the phenomenal showings in the playoffs has stuck in everyone’s mind, conveniently forgetting the mid-season slump that had them fighting for a playoff spot. Every championship team has close games. The difference being the good teams usually find a way to be on the winning end of those close games.

Only thing that was dissapointing to me is that the bills came out completely flat in the 2nd half. They honestly looked awful for a stretch there, but did enough to win. I know Morse went out, but the line has to be better and they have to find a way to keep Diggs involved

Are you not aware with what’s going on with the rest of the league? The dolphins have built a really good team, as we saw this year. Yes they will compete with us for the division in the immediate future. This is the nfl.
