“Preventive” is enough you are saying?

I’ve no issues with either sentence you wrote, but what bothers me more is the current use of the verb “do” these days as a catch all for any action.

“Yeah, I’ll do a martini with a lemon twist.”

”I’ll do the rigatoni.”

it used to be that men would use that verb as part of locker room talk. 😀

Yes, "preventive" is fine for me, haha

Your mentioning the use of "do" nowadays is a point well taken. How about "goes" instead of "says"? As in, "he goes 'how do you like that?'"

And the use of the past tense of "write" ("wrote") instead of the past participle "written" (as well as other irregular verbs)? My doctor, who is about 20 years younger than I am and Brown educated, said something like "he has wrote". I had to bite my lip from saying anything, lol. I also once emailed a journalist about his usage of something similar, and he actually (and obliviously) defended what he wrote as correct.

Don't get me started on "lay" vs. "lie" either. Or "submit" in mixed martial arts ("John submitted him").

Sorry, I can go on and on, as I expect you can.

I've always thought the same of "Commentator".  Why are we not just using Commenter?

I went with my dad to the NY Jets and Chicago Bears games that year.

I remember my dad had that card and us deciding on what games to go to.

Thanks for the memory.

Exactly the same games that my dad took me to.  The Jets game was a hideous weather day.  The Bears game was a gorgeous day.  Seems like that first preseason game, the HOF game was a strike game with scabs and rookies if memory serves?

LOL that Jets game was nuts.  Namath had a bunch of INTs, and nobody could throw the ball.

That is so funny we both went to the same games.

Three home September games??? A man can only dream!

Haha the dream.

2013 was the last 3 home games in Sept stretch NE, CAR, at NYJ, BAL. 2015 was close as the third home game was the Giants October 4th with IND, NE, at MIA, prior and last year was also close with the third home game against Houston October 3rd with PIT, at MIA, and WSH prior. The NFL tries to balance it out so I would think in 2023 Buffalo will probably have four home games by Oct 31st plus we have 9 homes game total next year.

My dad would work overtime on a Saturday, and it would pay for us to go to 2 games, parking and some concession stand food and drinks.

Endzone seats, of course.

Making memories. That is awesome.

The juice goes for 2000 in a 14 game season and only one Monday night.

That was the previous season.  He was hurt about mid-way through the Oakland game.

What is up with 7 pre season games??

So basically when the NFL went from 14 to 16 games they just reduced he preseason games from 6 or 7 to 4?

Did not know that...

Correct.
