Is that a mental crisis situation?  If so...good luck (unarmed) crisis responders and social workers.

Oh, this will help:

Calif. Senate passes bill to stop employees confronting shoplifters
Supporters of the bill say it would improve the safety of employees in the state while opponents claim it would do nothing to address violence.

California’s employers—both public and private—should be very concerned about SB 553 because it requires all employers to meet workplace violence standards that exceed even those applied to hospitals under present regulations,” the organization’s policy advocate Rob Moutrie said in a statement to Yahoo News. "Cal/OSHA staff specifically rejected using the hospital standard for all industries, and have spent years working on a general industry draft that makes sense for all of California’s workplaces. Sadly, SB 553 ignored those years of work and applies the hospital standard—with a few additional provisions—to even the smallest employer in the state.

"Enough is Enough": CA business owners, lawmakers held rally against dangerous theft policies

16cad8f0-1a51-4a2b-86fe-46a4bff94a01-med

In a statement provided by Cortese says, "Under my SB 553, employers would be prohibited from forcing their rank and file, non-security workers to confront active shoplifters, and all retail employees would be trained on how to react to active shoplifting. The legislation has other provisions that keep people safe at work. Let’s take every reasonable step to prevent another workplace assault or shooting.”

However, according to a rally held at the state capitol on Thursday, many small business owners, lawmakers, and law enforcement personnel say the bill will encourage shoplifting and increase crime.

The bill, "requires employers to develop their own workplace violence prevention plans as part of their Cal/OSHA Injury Illness Prevention Plan."

It would establish new workplace standards, that would prohibit store employees from fighting back against thieves.

“SB 533 allow all shoplifter to come to the store and grab whatever they need," said Paramjit Khaira, owner of Sac Valley Truck Stop.

Want to reduce crime? Reduce the amount of guns out there

Wow.  You've got it all figured out.  Less guns - no more looting.  No more stolen cars.  No more shoplifting.  You're a ***** genius.

Less shootings would be nice, is all the slaughter going on a positive good to you?

Try to think.  Where is all this crime occurring, and who's doing it?  You know the answer.

Target to close 9 stores, including 3 in the San Francisco Bay Area, citing safety concerns

NEW YORK (AP) — Target said Tuesday that it will close nine stores in four states, including one in New York City’s East Harlem neighborhood, and three in the San Francisco Bay Area, saying that theft and organized retail crime have threatened the safety of its workers and customers.

The closings, which will be effective Oct. 21, also include three stores in Portland, Oregon, and two in Seattle. Target said that it still will have a combined 150 stores open in the markets where the closures are taking place. It said it will offer affected workers the opportunity to transfer to other stores.

Mayhem in America the New Normal Under Democrats—Parolee Murders Young Tech Exec, Mobs Ransack Philadelphia

By Bob Hoge

It started with the George Floyd riots in the summer of 2020 when mobs took to the streets of America to loot, destroy, and kill with the tacit approval of the Democrat elite.

Since-disgraced CNN anchor Chris Cuomo argued that sometimes such behavior was justified, while Vice President Kamala Harris endorsed bail funds to support rioters.

Two more horrible stories emerged Tuesday night to underscore the decline of the United States. In one, a young tech executive with a bright future was brutally murdered in Baltimore by a violent convict on parole. In the second, massive mobs took to the streets of Philadelphia to destroy the already embattled stores of companies like Target.

What have we come to?

and its spreading to smaller cities like Rochester.

what's the long-term consequence?  A fine?  you don't pay the fine, and a warrant for arrest?

Or are fines now like jail and bail and based on income, race, sex, location, children?

DEMOCRAT CONGRESSMAN OBSTRUCTS AN OFFICIAL PROCEEDING

The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly today for a continuing resolution that will fund the federal government for 45 days. The “clean” CR does not include any of the conservative terms the Republicans have been trying to get, but it does include billions in disaster relief. Personally, I would just as soon have seen a government “shutdown,” i.e., a temporary furlough of nonessential government workers. The fact that Democrats voted overwhelmingly for the CR that passed today suggests that they are not certain that a “shutdown” will damage Republicans politically. Of course, that could still happen. Today’s vote just buys time.

The most entertaining story to come out of today’s vote relates to Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman, an open socialist. Bowman pulled a fire alarm in the Cannon office building, apparently hoping to delay the vote on the CR. He was caught red-handed, and lamely explained that he was trying to open a door:

I already put this in another thread but it needs to become well known. The Federal government arrested a man for child porn this summer  and did not notify the school or YMCA he worked at so they could keep him away from the kids. In the most literal sense of the word they protected a child predator to ensure he could continue to prey on children. If anyone can give me any reason for this other than the federal government protects criminals over honest people I would love to hear it. I will also say this is guy was in my world since I coach at that YMCA, I am a teacher and that school is very close to me.

The Dems are the party of giving criminals more rights than the non-criminals.  It's...criminal.

you never know for sure if it’s deliberate or incompetent. The fed employs a lot of dimwits.

Socialist Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulls fire alarm as Dems try to delay vote on GOP stopgap spending bill

FTA:

Creating a false fire alarm is a misdemeanor in the District of Columbia and punishable by up to six months in jail.

“No one in this country is above the law,” Bowman himself said just months ago in tweet attacking former president Trump and applauding his various indictments.

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik claimed that Bowman’s stunt amounted to a “felony.”

In addition to the false report emergency misdemeanor charge, pulling the fire alarm could also possibly constitute illegal obstruction of congressional proceedings — a federal felony
