I wouldn’t draft just to plug holes, which is what taking Austin over Watson is doing. It's tough to not be intrigued by the potential of Watson coming off a combine workout where he looked fast, agile and smooth and even had huge hands, which I think is a plus in Buffalo and with a big armed QB. Just have images in my mind of plenty of linear, very fast types who never evolved into anything but 1 trick ponies or less. On the hoof..........Marquez Valdes-Scantling is almost exactly the same as Christian Watson..........and MVS is nothing but an inconsistent deep threat. I read right here that MVS is one of the keys to Aaron Rodgers being MVP. on a serious note….nice comp with regards to body type, speed and route running. Both make a living in the vertical game. Where I’d give Watson the advantage is hands.

He has a few 80 yard net punts. Crazy. I mean the dude has a punt from his own end zone that ends up being down inside the opponents 5 lol. I seriously doubt he will be available in the 6th round. If we are going to get him, it will probably take a 5th round pick or earlier to do it. I mean the first highlight is just unreal. Not exactly dumb when it’s generational talent. Kid can punt from his own end zone to other opponents 20. That’s a huge huge advantage for NFL defenses. I would absolutely be ok if Beane decided to do it.

I get that he’s talented, but I don’t think it’s wise to take a punter before round five. Bryan Anger was also supposed to be a can’t-miss, generational punter, and he was drafted in the third. He has had an unspectacular NFL career and is currently unemployed. 5th round is the highest I’d go.

LyndonvilleBill
So, I thought I use the list of visits from the Tracker Thread to see how it laid out with a mock draft. Using the Mock Draft Database simulator, I found it kind of interesting. Seeing I couldn't work in the LB, S and DE visitors, I filled the LB and Safety with the last 2 picks. 25. Z. Johnson OL Boston College 57. J. Metchie WR Alabama 89. C. Cotton TE Washington 129. R. White RB Arizona State 168. L. Bruss OL Wisconsin 184. M. Araiza P SD State 202. J. Thomas CB Texas 229. D. Jackson LB Appalach. State 244. S. Weatherford S Miami Ohio Although, I would have changed a couple based upon who was still available during my selections, such as C. Watson @ 57 and J. Ruckert @ 89 instead of Metchie and Otton, I left it alone. Using this, it leads me to FA target positions. Could be our own or outside. Edge, DT, WR, QB, CB, TE. Take these against the rumor mills and outside thoughts. For Example.... Edge: Outside -Jones, Lawson, Von Miller Inside - Hughes, Addison, Obada DT: Outside - Cox, Hankins Inside - Phillips, Zimmer WR: Outside - Berrios, Kirk, Chark Inside - McKenzie, Sanders QB: Outside - Fitz, Winston, Brissett Inside- (none really) Trubisky? CB: Outside - Douglas, Peterson, Hayward Inside - Wallace TE: Outside - Gronk, Dissly, Engram Inside - No Fa's What do you think?🤔

without a drought
I can't see them taking 9 players in the draft. So, I'm expecting some movement up in the middle rounds to grab a couple players that they have targeted.

That leaves 15 spots to fill not counting any additional potential cuts (Beasley and Star)? At least I think that's where we stand. Tighter CAP going forward? I think this would be the year and to be honest, I'd attempt to trade back in the 1st and pick up an additional late 3 early 4th and make it an even 10.😉
