Turned momentum.  We had just pinned them back and had good field position.   A first down there and we get points likely instead a dumb outside run to Singletary.  Punt and momentum gone.

Yeah, they had several drives like that in the middle of the game that ended with them taking the ball out of Allen's hands despite him being hotter than any QB in memory.

On a day when they lost two coin flips and subsequently ended up with 2 less posessions.........they couldn't afford to lose drives in that manner.

Yes that was huge,  Sean again playing not to lose and trying to go caveman.  He is just may not have it for coaching big games and I believe unless he figures it out will be fired.  This 13 sec massive choke job put him notice,  if get it together or be replaced

Maybe Sean Payton takes one season off and if Sean does not get this team to Super Bowl we hire him after next season.  Last thing you want to do is waste opportunities because you feel sorry for someone

Did it look like we completely scrapped the run game that's been working for a bunch of stretch plays or outside zone runs?

Ya.  Weird.  Not sure if they saw something that worked against the Chiefs but they forgot that Singletary is sloooowww

Yes, it was big.

Wasn't a stupid outside run, though, anymore than the outside run on which he got the 4th down touchdown.

It was an unsuccessful outside run.

IMO the two punts on shortish 4th downs are what stick out to me.

Helluva game. And I still feel awful.

Just watched the failed 3rd and 2 jet sweep to McKenzie in the 3rd quarter.

Ya.  Dumb.  Even Romo said that. The sweep with Josh is nearly unstoppable.  That's the play. Every damn 3rd and 2 or 4th and 2.  Titans game they said same thing...put him in shotgun.

Plus they can be multiple even on the obvious shotgun short yardage formations. They can run student body right like they did on the first fourth down of the game with the back as an outnumber blocker, or can use the RB action for a Bash concept where the back actions away from where the QB will go.

Taron missed tackle.  That doesn't happen much

That 75 yard TD to Davis might be the play we look back on where Allen became fully self aware like Skynet before he proceeded to devastate the league.

I listened to Jordan palmer interview and got chills.  His self awareness is unreal.  Next year may be a historical season imo

Between bad short yardage calls and inability to sack mahomes when he's dead to rights was the ballgame.    We could have been up 10 in 3rd...

Needs to finish, Mahomes was right in front of him

Easier said than done. How many times have people said the same thing about Allen? They are both exceptionally elusive.

Maybe the Saints should hire you to replace Payton since you obviously are the smartest football mind I have ever seen.

Fire McDermott? Get a life.

This is what Beane needs to watch,  your defence is garbage .  NO TALENT ON THAT SIDE OF THE BALL.  ZERO GUYS WHO CAN MAKE BIG PLAYS AND YOU HAVE LOADS ON MONEY ON DEFENCE

That punt return killed us and guy going out of bounds killed us because they have 15 yard penalty.  That Hill return most likely was reason why Sean did not squid kick

We never seem to get turnovers when we really need them

If he fails again next season then yes I would replace him with Payton,
