According to some of these guys, it’s Allen‘s time to shine against Mahomes

i made one comment regarding Chris Jones.  He’s been my topic of conversation.  He’s a potential game wrecker.  If he wrecks, our game plan could be shattered.  That’s all I’m saying.  It’s possible.  We’ve seen it happen the last two times he’s played us.

Not much else to say….. I agree, we CAN still slaughter them with Jones.  Let’s just not act like we’re automatically going to slaughter them because we did earlier in the season.  Their D is better than they were week 4.

Their D is better since they played the Bills and the return of Jones is a big reason.

FWIW, according to Football Outsiders' DVOA defensive Rankings:

Total DVOA            Total DVOA               Pass DVOA               Pass DVOA               Rush DVOA              Rush DVOA

                            Wks 1-9               Wks 10-17                  Wks 1-9                   Wks 10-17                 Wks 1-9                   Wks 10-17

Buffalo                   1                              5                                 1                                 4                              3                                 16

KC                         31                            10                                27                              11                             28                                11

Also: Since the Bills and KC played, the Bills have given up 18.6 PPG and KC has given up 16.8 PPG

Oh man.  How does Keyshawn ever have a seat on that stage?  He’s embarrassing

That segment was truly cringeworthy on his part. Thank goodness for Mina Kimes there and even Stephen A. to a lessor extent.

... Keyshawn was literally calling Allen the "flavor of the month" this time last year, and somehow he's still using that same schtick. Like you said. EMBARRASSING.

I’d rather have a healthy Lamar Jackson.  You lose all credibility when you start throwing out nonsense like that.  And I like Lamar more than most

They have and I've acknowledged that.

The fact that Bates has been inserted into the lineup and playing at a high level will be huge for this team. And as long as Feliano is not on the field it's another huge win for us.

He's a top 10 NFL defensive player which is good enough for me.

Top 10 defensively is reasonable. Top 10 overall is whacky.

I heard someone say this, and i agree.  Josh Allen has a history of a flub or two after an elite game.  Mahomes has shown he can string together some elite performances for a few games in a row.  It's not all on the QB, but that's the difference for the moment.  That can all change this weekend,,,   But Josh will likely need to string together 4 darn good games in a row to win the SB.

I disagree.  Brady had a pretty average championship last season and they won the SB. He threw 3 INT's and had a QB rating under 74.

Yeah, sorry about the format. Just trying to provide some numbers to support the argument that KC improved defensively across the board - which they did.

This is going to be a really tough game. I think their defense has played really well over the last half of the season, and our offensive line has tremendously improved over the last 6-7 games.

Clearly, IMO, the two best teams in the AFC.

Jones was IMO the single biggest reason they won the AFCCG last year. We could not get Josh comfortable at all because he was destroying the pocket snap after snap. Yes, we failed to pressure Mahomes the same way, granted. But that game should have been a whoever has the ball last shootout. It wasn't primarily because of Chris Jones. If the Bills keep Jones quiet, I don't think Kansas City can beat us this weekend.

This is a relevant point. Because Jones's main victim in both games last year was the now benched Feliciano.

I still believe the inability of the banged up Bills receivers to get separation had just as big of a negative impact on Allen as the Chiefs pass rush.

Foxworth who is the one that stated Josh's ceiling is higher was an Allen hater. He has seemed to come around and accepted the fact that he was wrong about Josh.

Graziani has been consistent that he believes its Josh's time and that Buffalo will win the Super Bowl this year because of Josh. I agree with him. I have thought that Josh is a top 3 player in this league. I now think he is bar none the best player in the NFL.

This is where I’m at as well, I’ve felt he was the best player in the league after the road game at NE… but after this ridiculously historic post season game he just put together, more people are coming along for the ride

It definitely had an impact, along with the refs.  That was huge.  Josh was still under duress almost immediately after getting set for the majority of the game.  Similar to Mahomes in the sB vs Tampa.  KC blitzed more often

It had an effect. It wasn't as big as the impact Jones had. Allen never got comfortable. Even if receivers had been running open all over the field he wouldn't have been comfortable. What would have changed that is dealing with Jones.

I"m with you. I'm a jackson fan. That being said. Lamar was still healthy this year when his td/int count was 16/13.... Nobody in their right mind is taking jackson over allen after the last 2 years of evidence.

Josh Allen went up against Mac Jones don't you know. Bill must have a;ready decided he isn't the QB of the future if he was playing corner!

Well the funny part is.... Mahomes went up against the corpse of Big Ben. He conveniently left that part out.

End of the day I'm pretty sure all of these people did the same thing, looked at a stat sheet.

If any one of them knew anything about the games they would realize that we didn't have a complete starting offensive line until about 4 weeks ago.

It’s a two minute video, so it’s short but sweet. Even the guy that picked Mahomes said that Allen has a higher ceiling, he just doesn’t do it as consistently.

I really do believe that Allen vs. Mahomes is most likely the new Brady vs. Manning rivalry. My hope is that Allen is the one that has more success over the long haul. Hopefully it starts this weekend. Go Bills!

Your thoughts not only about this upcoming game but do you think Allen can be the one that has more success vs. Mahomes over the long term?

Edit - For some reason, it won’t let me direct link to the video. Click on the link below and then find the video called “Allen or Mahomes: who will Carry their team to the AFC championship game?”.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/_/name/buf/buffalo-bills

Keys to the game:

1.  Can we control the LOS on both sides of the ball?

2.  Can we avoid shooting ourselves in the foot with dumb penalties that kill drives or take points off the board…or give KC extra chances to extend drives?

3.  Can we actually play defense on Kelce and Hill?

4.  Do we win the turnover battle?

Both Allen and Mahomes are elite, I think it comes down to those 4 factors more than what Allen and Mahomes do as individuals.

We did none of that in AFCCG and lost bad.  We did all of that in week 5 and won big.

I think this game has more balance to it from both teams and is going to be more of a close battle with Bills winning 31-27.

With Bills Oline better now I believe they keep Jones contained better this time around

I mean at that point in the video it kind of felt like "If someone's going to tell you they're an idiot let them."
