But I wouldn’t necessarily say Beane has failed so far. He did rebuild the o-line in a single offseason before. Maybe not into an elite unit but it was functional.

He’s had some hits and misses on the o line, and he messed up this year by not addressing the interior in a more meaningful way. But I’m not sure we can blame him for Daryl Williams falling off a cliff at RT. I think we were all pretty happy when Williams was re-signed this offseason.

Perhaps we were more successful in those games because our OL was not yet further stressed by losing a starting guard (as we have now) during those games.  Brown's loss simply represents another domino.  It is NOT a singular issue.  And it need not be the end of the world, nor equal catastrophe to be a concern.  

 

Yes, they can win without Spencer Brown.  They have done it multiple times this year, of course.  We all get that.  But let's not pretend that winning did not just get more difficult as a result of him being out.  It did.  That's football.  Should we still beat The Colts?  Of course we should, but the margin for error is now less.  I'm not sure how there is any argument counter to that.

Maybe saying he failed is a little harsh but it is obviously the weakest area of the team. If the Bills don't get to or win the Super Bowl the OL will probably be the main reason. When the draft comes around I will be curious to see who the best players are on the board for the Bills to take. Beane will have to go OL early in the draft is my guess.

Please bite your tongue.  We only have so many offensive lineman, and even if vaccinated it is entirely possible that most of the OL is close contacts with Brown and now testing daily

Im starting to think that being a vocal anti-vaxer on instagram isnt a good idea when another tackle on your team had a really tough battle with covid. I hope he heals up fast and is good for the Pats game, but covid kicked my ass bad and I am a 28 year old, relatively healthy man. Accountability, availability. Just hoping the antivax instagram stories from Spencer disappear now.

Try Doyle at RT?  Leave Williams at Rg?  Ford has been pretty bad.  Williams has been bad at RT imo.  Idk if Doyle is ready or not maybe Bates?  He was Tackle eligible last week.  Moving Williams outside hurts 2 spots not 1.

I'm not saying losing him doesn't hurt.  He's not the 2nd most important player on offense.  He's just not.

 

We have scored 35, 43, 16 and 9 with Ford starting.  And in the Steelers and Jags game, our entire offensive line was bad and it wasn't just Ford.

We got beat up by the Steelers and I count the Jags game as an anomaly.

You’re correct in your assessment. However, drafting an o lineman early is how we got into this mess. We now have Cody Ford sitting on the bench instead of Wyatt Teller making 14mil+
