This is about their fourth attempt at this, but his statement still has a couple of glaring issues. “We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime,” Biden said in a statement. “The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected,” Biden said. “The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.” Now I like the term “clarion call for freedom” terminology and saying they stand with the Cuban people. But it isn’t a “clarion call for freedom from the tragic grip of the pandemic” that they’re talking about in the streets. It’s the clarion call for freedom from the Communist dictatorship. They really want to make everything about the pandemic, don’t they? The people aren’t chanting “Give us more medicine!” They’re chanting, “Libertad! (Freedom!).” They’re chanting, “Enough.” Where is Biden calling out Communism anywhere in that statement? Or is that too hard for anyone on the left to do? Where is there any admonition not to attack the people and the condemning of what the government has already done? This isn’t about the pandemic at its base. He then became Prime Minister and took the country to socialism (schooling and healthcare) before aligning with the Soviets under communism. Afterwards, he focused on Chile, Nicaragua and Granada where the socialist ideas were spread under his influence (save for Soviet Union). It’s literally the socialist playbook.
