Some Schools Pay to Push CRT Curriculum at the Literal Expense of Everything Else

I had to zoom in to make sure that kid was not wearing a Stevie Johnson jersey.

San Diego School District is spending $77,000,000 on it.

What are they cutting to add this is what I wonder. Its not like California has schools so exemplary that can cut some stiff out cuz kids are too smart upon graduation.

So I'm watching a short segment on Carlson with professed liberal comedian Jimmy Dore.  Found his perspective interesting.  His somewhat outside-the-box assessment might be worth a look regardless of your perspectives here.

His basic premise is the left used to focus on discussions concerning economic disparities and issues.  But now all discussions are centered around identify politics.  And the reason for that is the establishment has found a way to co-op the progressive movement including capturing the discussions on identity and race issues, and  as a result it has avoiding discussions on economics and left them free to loot and pillage society without any focus on those activities.  All these discussions on things like CRT are just smoke and mirror diversions.

"You want to help black people then give them free college, a living wage, medicare for all.  What did Biden do?  Made Juneteenth a holiday and gave government workers another day off".

So is this the game here?  Simple misdirection?  You've got elite billionaires, cultural & social elites, intellectual elites, elite corporate CEO's & BOD's, elite politicians, and I should add the military industrial complex.  All beating the drum of racism.  All getting rich while the rest of us, black, white, brown, run faster and faster while falling behind.  While they redirect the focus away from themselves and on to the average guy in the street.  Its not their fault their collective elite class is so well off and everyone else is not.  its the fault of all those damn white supremacists, all white people, except them of course while paying off the attack dogs on the left to steer clear of them and find other targets.  Pitting the citizens against one another, the identified oppressor and the oppressed fighting against each other over table scraps while leaving them free to do pretty much what they want.  Unnoticed and getting away with it.  Robbing us all blind while our backs are turned faced off against one another.

I think this guy is on to some good insights.  I bookmarked his site.

Thank you!  Someone finally had the guts to state the obvious. People are no different from most other creatures; we make judgements with our eyes first, and then if possible move on to deeper probing for a better assessment. If your outward appearance is that of what is commonly referred to as a 'street thug', that's the first thing most people are going to judge you by...no matter what color skin you happen to be 'wearing'.  Once again.....it isn't complicated. You all know it to be true from you own life experience.  Nobody in 21st Century America references back to when blacks were slaves to make these judgements.  They make the judgements (unfortunate but true) on their current life experience in modern culture.  I'm willing to guess you've each made these same visual judgements countless times this very day, and will again tomorrow, and the day after that.  It's not rocket science.

Wow surfer dude, we agree....

It is not racist to disagree with ghetto culture, or drug  culture, or a culture that has fathers killing daughters because they embarrassed them, or a culture that mutilates females etc

This is not color, religion or race....

Christopher Rufo has gotten stuff done. As we’ve said, he’s become a clearinghouse for whistleblowers uploading documents from their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) seminars and assignments from kids’ classrooms. He brings the receipts and doesn’t apologize for what he’s doing.

Because Conservatives have coalesced around anti-CRT efforts, leftists, meaning the mainstream news media, have decided they have to champion critical race theory, but they can’t decide if it’s not being taught in K-12 or if it should be taught in K-12 public school classrooms.

On Saturday, Rufo pulled up 10 articles, both news stories and opinion pieces, from the Washington Post alone.

Hey Niagara…is it winter up there yet? (Kidding) My point was that the more people of ANY culture, nationality, religion or race look to stand out visually, the more they’re bound to be treated differently. That can be good or bad but it’s just basic human nature. Now, if that group adopts an aesthetic, language, dress or appearance that’s associated with low income, intelligence or crime, it shouldn’t be surprising that you’re slowly training the rest of society to think of you with a less than positive ‘prejudice’. But…that’s not racism.

In “Blue” Rhode Island, Parents Are Seeing “Red” and Rising-Up Against Critical Race Theory

For most of the past year, the left has vigorously denied that critical race theory (CRT) was a “real” phenomenon in America’s government-run public school systems.

According to their narrative, CRT was “fake” news, nothing more than right-wing propaganda.

Here in Rhode Island, following suit, state education officials and local school committee members – as well as their defenders in the media – also publicly denied that CRT was being taught in local school districts. In trying to obfuscate the truth … the critical theorists openly admit they are all about diversity, seeking to end the systematic racism they imagine is present in their schools; yet they are unable to produce any concrete examples and are unwilling to answer more specific curriculum questions from parents.

But in early July, the two major national teacher unions blew the left’s cover, openly admitting, and even doubling down on their desire to see divisive race theories advanced in K-12 education; a zeal that includes researching and harassing – potentially even taking legal action against – organizations that challenge the indoctrination of students with racial stereotyping. The malicious cat we all knew was there … was let out of the bag.

Minnesota fourth-graders told to hide ‘equity survey’ questions from parents

by Joshua Q. Nelson

A Minnesota fourth-grade student and her mother expressed concern to their local school board after her class was given an "equity survey" and students were told not to tell her parents about the activity. Fourth-grader Hayley Yasgar told "Fox & Friends" on Monday, sitting alongside her mother Kelsey, that the questions were confusing and it made her "very nervous and uncomfortable" when the students were told not to tell their parents. "The survey asked questions that some students didn’t understand. Even after hearing an explanation from their teacher, some still couldn't comprehend the survey questions," The Center Square reported.

‘People are scared’: Democrats lose ground on school equity plans

Moderate and suburban voters share concerns about education changes and say national Democrats dismiss their arguments.

Elina Kaplan is the kind of suburban mom who made Joe Biden president.

An immigrant who came to the United States from the Soviet Union, she is a registered Democrat from San Mateo County, Calif. And she’s alarmed over her state’s new model ethnic studies curriculum, which cites critical race theory as a “key theoretical framework and pedagogy.”

“I firmly believe that if the vast majority of Californians and Americans knew about this, and about the content of this type of curriculum, this would not be happening. We would not be having this conversation,” Kaplan said.

Kaplan, who has launched an email list, set up meetings with state legislators and recruited people to meet with their school boards to discuss ethnic studies, is representative of Democrat-leaning or politically moderate suburbanites interviewed by POLITICO in six states, all but one of which were won by Biden. They are up in arms over their school systems’ new equity initiatives, which they argue are costly and divisive, encouraging students to group themselves by race and take pro-activist stances. Proponents of the initiatives say they are a long-overdue step toward getting rid of systemic racism in the school system.

On the national level, Democrats have insisted that the brush fires over critical race theory — which has become a political punching bag even for unrelated equity initiatives — are largely the work of right-wing activists who willfully misrepresent what it means, and they blame Fox News for fanning parents’ anger.

"That's another right-wing conspiracy. This is totally made up by Donald Trump and [Republican candidate for governor] Glenn Youngkin," Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe said in June.

“I don’t think we would think that educating the youth and next and future leaders of the country on systemic racism is indoctrination,” said White House press secretary Jen Psaki in May.

But those Democrats appear to be underestimating parents’ anger in places where critical race theory is top of mind. Objections to new equity plans are not the sole province of conservatives but extend to many moderate and independent voters, according to POLITICO interviews with school board members, political operatives and activists in Democratic and left-leaning communities including the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.; Palm Beach County, Fla.; New York’s Westchester County; Maricopa County covering Phoenix, Ariz.; and suburban Detroit.

Parents who are showing up to school board meetings and have helped launch a spate of recall elections say they are angry about a host of issues, including what they see as a myopic focus on diversity at school boards, ongoing frustration over a year of closed schools and school lesson plans that they say are becoming too progressive, too fast. While those complaints have often been branded in the media as “anti-critical race theory,” the causes of the anger are varied, and are being ignored, parents say.
