ChiGoose
A federal government shutdown could upend Virginia's elections "When Republicans forced a government shutdown in October 2013 in a fruitless quest to defund Obamacare, their Virginia gubernatorial candidate, Ken Cuccinelli, lost by fewer than 3 points. At the time, Cuccinelli’s top strategist lamented that “more than anything,” the shutdown “is what cost us the race.” Ten years later, a new generation of House Republicans is on the verge of sparking a shutdown just ahead of another important election in Virginia, which could throw a wrench into Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s goals of capturing both chambers of the General Assembly. Early voting is already underway and the off-year election is being closely watched for clues about the 2024 presidential election landscape. The 2013 shutdown "definitely helped us,” said Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., who was a freshman senator in 2013 and said Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe’s poll numbers improved as a result. “And people do see it since only one side ever flirts with shutdown — Republicans.” “People know who’s doing it. And Virginia is so connected that everybody’s got family who is affected by this,” Kaine said, positing that the “chaos” of another shutdown will spark a “backlash” and cause the GOP aggressors to back down. 1

Tommy Callahan
Ironic twist its conservatives that are trying to censor on social media companies? B-Man
Argentina's presidential election is on October 22nd. Javier Milei is the runaway frontrunner. He is a conservative. Of course, that means that the prosecutors in Argentina took the opportunity to charge him with a crime even though he did nothing wrong . The charge is that he caused a sharp drop in the Argentine currency with his Presidential campaign. Yes, really. Just like in America, they are using lawfare to try and take out an excellent politician. They did the same to the great Bolsonaro of Brazil and the great Donald Trump of USA! I hope Milei wins and arrests the prosecutors going after him! 1

Ms. Powell, who appeared in a downtown Atlanta courtroom, was sentenced to six years of probation for the charges, a significantly less-severe outcome than she would have faced if found guilty of the charges for which she was originally indicted, which included a violation of the state racketeering law Edited October 19, 2023 by B-Man 1

B-Man
JOHN NOLTE: Taylor Swift Humiliates Hollywood Again — Trounces Leo’s ‘Flower Moon.’ In its second weekend Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour grossed another $32 million, humiliating Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which debuted to just $22 million. Why is this important? Here’s why… Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was produced by … Taylor Swift and her team. It was also distributed by … Taylor Swift and her team. Swift Inc. froze Hollywood out and went straight to the theater chains. The result has been a box office triumph. In its first weekend, The Eras Tour grossed $93 million domestic and $124 million worldwide. After only three days, Swift already had the highest-grossing concert film in history. Moreover, she enjoyed the second biggest October opening weekend ever. Only Joker (2019) topped her, and… Hollywood had nothing to do with any of it. Hollywood did not make one penny off of it. And… This so terrifies Hollywood that Hollywood’s palace guards at the far-left Hollywood Reporter spent 1,500 words last week spinning Swift’s box office triumph into a mistake. And what was the mistake? She didn’t distribute The Eras Tour through the same studios that advertise at the far-left Hollywood Reporter. And if Martin Scorsese is angry at superhero movies, then imagine how feels about being bested by Taylor Swift. https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2023/10/21/nolte-taylor-swift-humiliates-hollywood-again-trounces-leos-flower-moon/ https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/martin-scorsese-marvel-movies-not-cinema-theme-parks-1202178747/ .
