Introduction. Ukraine has long played an important, yet sometimes overlooked, role in the global security order. Today, the country is on the front lines of a renewed great-power rivalry that many analysts say will dominate international relations in the decades ahead. How Firm Is Vladimir Putin's Grip on Power?

You are nuts, seriously nuts, Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and as for " dominate international relations in decades to come" it is already done. I love the fact you admit it is overlooked, because the reason is that is not important.

None of these are new articles but they cover from before Trump through 2019. How did you not know that Ukraine is corrupt? It has been discussed for decades and it is part of the reason that in 2014 we did not react more harshly to the Crimea.

Agreed but that is what you were arguing at the time, so how is it strategic? To believe that Putin will attack a NATO country at this point is crazy since his military is decimated in both personnel and materials. Since May of 2022 at the latest it has been apparent this was gonna be a long slog kind of war, why not make a peace plan at that time? Why chew up so much material and personnel on both sides?

Not true.

His military is not decimated, and the Russian economy has gone full speed war posture, producing far more than they were a year ago, which does not argue well for the outcome.

Ukraine has to do a bit better than status quo this winter.

Otherwise they will be overwhelmed.

I don't do homework.

The fact is that the Russian industrial economy has adjusted to full speed wartime production.

They are committed to winning this thing, at any cost.

So Ukrainian young men are of equal value to the destruction of the Russia materials? That is a thought I have not heard before in regards to the Ukraine.

Russians are destroying their economy to wage an unlawful war.  we ravaged ours for a just war against Nazi's and Japanese terrorists.

lazy will do:

To help finance the war, U.S. income taxes were raised to the highest levels in history. For 1944 and 1945, income amounts above $200,000 — about $3.3 million in today's dollars — were taxed at an astounding marginal tax rate of 94%! After the war, that top rate was brought down to 91%.

Are they?

 https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2023/11/24/715194/Russia-economy-Eurozone-Amundi

According to the French investment firm Amundi, cited by British media on Thursday, Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) will grow by 1.5 percent in 2024, while expectations for the Eurozone economy’s growth next year are a mere 0.5 percent.

The French fund manager said Russian trade imports and exports had remained virtually unaffected by the Western sanctions, while skyrocketing energy prices had left a heavy toll on the Eurozone.

Typical dipsh!t response that is a specialty of the redhawk/tiberius crowd. If you take issue with the data, data that refutes your earlier statement, you might wish to lodge a complaint with the French investment firm that provided the analysis.

You argued the destruction of the entire Ukraine male population is worth Russia using all of their munitions. You need to drop the hyperbole and try to have a serious conversation unless you want to be known as the new Billsy.

DEMOCRACY

https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/29/politics/haley-koch-trump-2024/index.html

Tuesday’s endorsement from Americans for Prosperity Action is the latest indication that Haley – on the strength of a shrewd campaign, a new generational message, and several strong debate performances – is now the GOP establishment’s favorite as the Trump-alternative.

But despite the advantage of the Koch network’s tens of millions of dollars and its vast political machine, the endorsement poses new questions for Haley – the latest woman to take a turn trying to break the highest glass ceiling in politics.

First, will this new boost relatively late simply make her one of the best-financed runners-up in US political history? Or can she use it to mount a serious challenge to the ex-president in building a path to the GOP nomination that does not yet seem to exist?

Will Venezuela Be the Next Country to Attack a Neighbor

All the world needs now is another dictator launching a war on its neighbor. Last year Putin launched the war in Ukraine and in October Gaza initiated its own war against Israel. Recently there have been signs that Nicolas Maduro’s regime in Venezuela may be planning an invasion of neighboring Guyana.
