Between Covid and Xavier missing the tournament for the 3rd straight year for the first time since I left there in ‘82, I didn’t even fill out as bracket. Unheard of! In Xavier’s defense, they went an entire month and were only able to practice twice due to outbreaks. Hard to take the results too seriously. Oh well, we’re in good company with Duke, UK, etc...... Now Loyola, IL just beat Illinois. my theory on the Big 10 being overhyped looks to be true. Every time there is a “super” conference, the seeds for that conference get way inflated. They just play each other and then the stats become “incestuous.” I think they have some good teams— but to have two 1 seeds, two 2 seeds, and a 4 seed, in addition to the other teams that made it— they were bound to be overhyped.
