Deshaun Watson prefers the Jets

The one organization that could mess his career up as bad or worse than Houston

This would be a disastrous decision on his part.  Historically horrible ownership, organization and poor coaches. They have no existing weapons and aren't guaranteed drafting any? He'd be better off playing for Shanahan. Oh well, it's his call.

SF would be the power move for sure. Jets would be a joke move.

At what point does it become legit to question whether Deshaun Watson, whom I think very highly of as a QB and a competitor, is a few peas short of a casserole?

I guess Mike LaFleur > any of the names the Dolphins are linked to currently, but the Dolphins have most of the pieces necessary for a functional team - killer D, great ST, pieces on OL, RB, TE, WR....and the fact that the Dolphins have not yet hired an OC says to me they may have their eye on someone who is still coaching

The Jets on the other hand appear to be a tire fire

I don't think that the Texans will trade him.  Time will tell.

Hey. the Jets just hired a QB coach from the University of New Mexico.

Okay so he'll go to a team with no offensive weapons and a bad o-line, and to get Watson they'll have to give up draft picks they could have otherwise used to get some weapons. Good luck with that.

Right.

From 4-12 with the Texans, to 4-12 with the Jets.

That would be defined as a "lateral move".

All this talk and time dedicated to a 4-12 QB.

Weird.

Watson would go 4-12 with the Jets just like he went 4-12 with the Texans.

If he loses with the Texans, wouldn't he lose with the Jets?

Has anybody stopped and thought about that?

Well actually yes

Gotta stop stressing this guy.
Until he comes out and says this stuff publicly take it for what it’s worth. Hearsay.
Carolina, Pittsburgh, Indy, and tons of other fan bases all have similar “reports” popping up about how they have a shot at trading for him. Watson has not confirmed any of this. It’s all based on reporters hunches and inside “sources”
Houston holds the cards here don’t forget despite reports, Watson has his no trade clause but is he actually willing to miss game checks? Houston does not have to trade him if they don’t feel they’re getting enough value. He might get moved but I don’t believe all these bs reports. He told people, ok what people?

I predict the Texans won't end up trading Deshaun Watson.

If they have any sense whatsoever -- and it's no guarantee that they do -- they'll do what they need to do to salvage the relationship, and will bring in whatever coach Watson feels comfortable with.

If they trade away Deshaun Watson at age 25 -- no matter WHAT the compensation they get back is -- they'll regret it forever.

I disagree.  It sounds like the relationship with Watson is not salvageable.  They went 4-12 with him this year and have no premium draft picks and no cap room. Trading him is a big risk, but it’s worth taking if they can get three firsts (including number 2 overall) a QB (like Darnold) and a mid-round pick or two.  If I’m the new GM, I make that trade—and I love Watson as a player.

SF would be great for Watson; I just don’t know if they have the ammunition to make it happen.  What would they trade them? Bosa and a first?  I don’t think that’s enough...

A lot of people close to the situation doubt that Houston will make the trade.  They have also shared the challenges that a team will have that trades for Watson.  You inherit a franchise QB contract but have no draft capital to put talent around him for several years.  Essentially it’s the same situation as Houston this year.

If Houston hires a coach like Bienenemy, Frazier, or whoever else I can see them talking DeShaun into playing.  A lot can happen

The Jets could make the trade and still have plenty of draft picks left in the next two years.  With Watson, they will be a serious threat.  They are not as bad as Gase made them look.

Watson will melt down after his first loss.  The NY media will destroy this guy.  Clearly we now have his agent leaking things, which just goes to show what a bunch of clowns we are dealing with.  This guy really thinks he should be Patrick Mahomes and have all the commercials and be the face of the NFL. I really think in his mind he thinks he is the best QB in the NFL, although he can't make half the throws Mahomes makes.
