Learn what exactly? I would understand if he threw like consecutive picks, but outside of that, a QB isn't gonna learn from his mistakes by being constantly pulled.

what did Fitz do when he came in to sub for Tua?  Throw the ball more effectively perhaps?

i was just playing with the ESPN simulator. Titans almost have to win this game, or they have a decent shot of missing the playoffs. Also, if they lose and still make the playoffs, there is a chance we would play them in a 2/7 Game.

No, no, no!  That can't be right.

It's an NFC opponent. Didn't we establish it is best to lose those games?

Yeah, that's true. I'm not sure i, or especially the players quantify it as a loss if the backups are in.  But I guess I could see both sides. Man, injuries could eff us bad though. Its a double sided sword. If 2 is wrapped up u rest the starters.

It’s not about quantifying anything.  Bringing a loss into the locker room is bad for this current team imo.  I believe that it can mess with the mojo. I’m just a guy in the couch though.  Injuries are scary, but so is this team.  I’d love to see us go balls to the wall to accumulate nothing but wins.  Losses can be bad.....even when they “mean nothing”

All I know is I want to play the Dolphins in the first round. If that means running hb dive to Taiwan Jones for 67 times so be it.

To play a little devils advocate

What if this is just 3d chess by Flores, play tua against us in week 17 knowing if we play Barkley or fromm the dolphins defense alone could/should provide a victory. Which then sets up a rematch in the wild card where you go with fitz. Kind of nullifies any vanilla play calling or jump start the bills would have on game planning

Maybe we should let Miami win next week then play them in the playoffs

Question is do we let them win to keep Baltimore out while at the same time possibly dropping from the 2 seed  to the  3 or 4 seed.

Ever since the Bengals got beat down by the Jets and Mark Sanchez in the wild card game after laying down to the Jets week 17 I have always hated the idea of letting an opponent beat you when you will face them the following week. Not sure if it has happened since then. I want to say maybe Packers/Vikings but I think the Packers at least won the rematch?

I doubt McDermott shares that same philosophy, as well as the players. Intentionally losing doesn't vibe with the word process

Well we intentionally through the game with the Jets last year. So who knows?

For all we know, in McDermott's mindset, that was the reason the team played so stagnant for half the game against Houston. McDermott compared to last year has changed from a conservative mindset to an aggressive one. I honestly don't think McDermott will rest his starters come week 17

Any casinos running odds on which quarter he will get benched in?

Halftime would be the earliest IMO. Best case scenario for the Bills is we get up three TD's in the first quarter and a half and the Dolphins offense has one first down for the whole game and I still think he would stick with Tua until at least half time.

Flores can say to the media "well nothing was going right in that game up to that point. Offense, defense special teams were all failing. Making a QB change there wouldn't have turned the game around".

Tua can't complete a pass beyond 10 yards.  So you play press man and rush 5-6 on every play.  He won't stand a chance.  We're lucky Flores is an idiot.  Fitz would at least force us to defend the whole field.

It's a win win for the Bills, Tua sucks and Fitz isnt good either.

If Josh Allen gets injured playing in a meaningless Week 17 game against the Dolphins, every post on this message board will be dropping napalm on McDermott.  If there is nothing to play for, let the starters get in for a series, and then sit them just like last year.

We didn't lose the Houston game because the starters rested the week before.  We came out hot and got on top of the Texans early and only a comedy of errors and bad officiating cost us the game.
