Candace Owens: George Floyd is not a Martyr

Recommended Posts

I don’t know who this woman is, but she has a salient point. She clearly believes in what she is saying as it won’t be welcomed by lefties, the black community, or the self loathing er, Americans we see all over our TVs lately. I applaud her take, as it is a voice of reason crying out in the night.

Right.

She is already being shouted down by the Liberal community.

Why?

For telling the truth?

Communists have a violent reaction to the truth. I am already packing my bags to head to the FEMA camps. Why wait for communist contact tracing system to identify me as someone who will not cooperate? It will save me some bruises and I have time to get my affairs in order.

No one deserves to die in such a horrible way. However, my sympathy is weaning the more I hear.

Drugs, armed robbery felon, passing bad bills/checks, resisting arrest? Not sure why his life was any more special

than any of the people who have been killed or injured and/or had their properties

and livelihood destroyed in his name.

But you are communist, that is established, now you are an official agent and infiltrating America.

I agree. While Floyd’s past is irrelevant to his completely unjustifiable death, the unjustified deaths of others as a result of the riots are now being swept aside as just so much collateral damage. It’s flat out wrong.

Sadly, it is parr for the course. Ignorance is now a bioweapon. Sociopathy on demand.

Nailed it.

Discuss.

The bitc? does not decide who is a martyr or not...but she is correct.

Floyd was not perfect, few are, the circumstance created the status. The creater in this event are the cops. Floyd gave his life reluctantly not as a hero.

She most certainly can decide who is a martyr in her opinion.

Few of us also have a criminal history a mile long, burglarized a pregnant woman's apartment and held a gun to her....

Or have fentanyl, meth and pot in our system.

What Candace Owens said is spot in and hurts people's little feelings.

You are correct, I did sound like that. My apology. I have a great deal of respect, I just react to people who set themselves up as judge and jury.

I reacted and she is not even a commie like you.?

certainly agree......the first cop was charged after prosecutorial due diligence and the charges upgraded once the autopsy came out.....the other three have now been charged , again after prosecutorial due diligence to determine the proper charges......wheels of justice take time to come up with proper charges....and I'd bet the Minnesota prosecutors studied the tendencies of the Minnesota Court of Appeals because you know damn well that all four WILL appeal......sorry but the Antifa or whomever reactions ala protests, rioting , destruction, cop killing et al were expertly pre-planned in case an event like this happened.....and it did.....a spontaneous reaction?.......brick delivery?......um...er...well...uh...ok.....SMH.....

You are that because you set yourself up as judge and jury. You are proof that the white man just can't stop himself from doing Satan's work. What would your parents think?

Agree back at ya. I told my wife in a discussion 2 months ago when all the Blue state Governors started releasing inmates that phase 2 of the plan is unrest because of the Virus. They needed to stretch this out to win in November. One thing changed. A man was killed and they have a new crisis. Before anyone beats me up over this. The cops need to do time and will probably not live to see freedom again.

They would think I was a big enough person to apologize and admit I over reacted.

Imagine a commie mentioning Satan, Vlady would be proud you through that in.

You seem more emotional than usual today. Please, talk to me. What is really going on in your life that you have sought me out ? I believe I can help. What it is it about strong black women that frightens you so much?

Look, I like Candace a lot.  She is important as a Trump supporter.  She's very good, very smart.

But this just isn't the time.  This isn't like the Mike Brown situation.  Everyone saw the arrest.  The 8 minute choke hold.

At the initial heart of the Mike Brown story was a media narrative that this innocent black guy was gunned down.  We got the hands up visuals and eventually the Kapernick protests and how he went about it.

This is different.  As conservatives I think we're much better off saying the following:

"You may very well think Trump is the problem and thats fine.  But he had as much to do with Floyd as Obama did with Mike Brown.  Maybe instead of cynically mocking Trump when he meets with Kanye, promotes African Americans all thru his administration, passes legislation to help African Americans by increasing funding for Black Colleges, record low black unemployment, and getting Crime Reform done.....maybe if you weren't so busy letting the mob on social media and the morons on cable news convince you he's a racist, you'd see he has actually got things done that have made things better for Blacks.......meanwhile, your disingenuous disaster candidate is telling you "you ain't black" if you don't vote for him, and has a voting record every African American should look at again, and then ask "what exactly did he do while Veep?"

A lot of conservatives have to do a better job of making the right initial responses and do so quickly to events bc of social media and instant reaction----yes its possible we don't have all the facts to a story.  But if something is clear and obvious the worse you did was show you clearly care.

So, you are asking people to be phoney in times like this?

The time of caring about hurting people's feelings over false narrative's should be over.

Look, she didn’t say anything wrong.  But this isn’t the discussion point at all.

it’s basically disagreeing with the very few who are painting him as a good person.  But that equally misses the point.

No not at all.  And the phonies to me are the virtue signaling largely white guilt lib snobs that want to tell you you're racist bc you didn't change your profile pic to a black circle.

I don't see how a discussion about Floyd the person right now is helpful.  That's all.  And she isn't wrong.

No one is looking at this saying "he was wrongfully targeted or arrested."  I'm not seeing it as the media have held him up as a martyr because he was a perfect person wrongfully killed by law enforcement.  That is definitely not the story here.

He just shouldn't be dead.

Now the disconnect between the protesters and anyone like Candace happens ideologically left vs right.  The Left has convinced a lot of these folks thru our public schools and in media, slowly over time, that the Country is fundamentally flawed and needs "change."  "Change" has rightly triggered conservatives since Obama used it.  Conservatives knew Obama and the people behind him wanted to remake society and how our government works.  "You didn't build that!"  That was a foreign and outlandish thing to a lot of Americans.  But a lot were nodding along saying, "yep."

If you're Black and you sense resistance talk of "change," most likely the resistance you're getting is because that is code for Socialism.  It has nothing to do with skin color.  You may very well mean "I just don't want an employer or school or law enforcement to treat me any different."  Yes we obviously all agree.  Most people would say let's stick with that please.

But within your midst are people both Black and white that when they say "change" they mean the country is awful, the Founders were racists and should be scrubbed from the history books, the Constitution is trash....time for Socialism.

this person on YouTube had a pretty good response:

 Sean Curry

In the beginning of the video, she states that black people cater to the bottom denominator when choosing who to be a martyr. She claims repeatedly that they are making George to be a good guy, however, this isn't the argument people are making at all. Whether or not he is is irrelevant to the argument from people who support him. She isn't showing the other side of the argument, she is showing a completely different argument. Diverting attention to a new argument that isn't the topic of discussion is called red herring and it is a fallacy that she is making as confirmation bias to not support BLM. The argument for black lives matter is not whether or not he, or other martyrs for the cause are good people. Although the majority of them actually were good men and women with no record, discrediting him is discrediting them. They refuse to, and do not get to pick and choose which unarmed black civilian was or was not unjustly killed because if they did, they would also be guilty of red herring. It's not about who he is. It doesn't matter if he was a criminal because the thing that is being argued on behalf of George specifically is the fact that he 1. Was an unarmed black man 2. Was killed in the street when it could have very easily been avoided 3. He is a victim of systemic racism. This is what he had in common with every single black person that is being fought for. What else is MAINLY being argued by BLM activists is systemic racism which is very real and explained pretty well in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrHIQIO_bdQ. In terms of police, they are not attacking the individual, they are arguing that the infrastructure for an accountability system for police is broken due to 99% of police killings having no charges for the officer, that the vetting process is broken, that they are overfunded and have access to too much military force. BLM does not only support criminals, and they historically have not only supported black people. When cops shot and killed a white man who was begging for his life in Mesa Arizona, BLM rallied on his behalf. You can't pick and choose who is and isn't a victim in terms of unarmed people being targeted and killed based on background. She says that black people represent a disproportionate amount of criminals, and in so is implying that black people are inherently more violent than white people. She is not speaking about systemic oppression which created this scenario, because black people are NOT more violent just because they are black, and what about that police are more heavily funded in majority black communities which were geographic locations of redlining in the first place? Doesn't this affect how likely you are to encounter police? In her argument about "assuming all doctors are horrible based on one bad doctor", once again, the argument is on the system of the job, not on the personal qualities of police officers. It is NOT about making him a hero, it is about him being an example of the thing that has been fought by black activists before we were all even born.

Society is going to have to decide whether it wants to continue to be organized under concepts of natural law with the individual as the sovereign unit, or under concepts of group polity with the tribe as the sovereign unit. The United States Constitution was intended to delay us having to make that choice for as long as possible, but realistically that time appears to be waning.

It's exactly the time. Ask the rioter/protester on the street why they are out looting/marching, they will say for justice. What is justice, you may ask? It varies from the one officer needs to be in jail for life, to all 4 cops need to be in jail for life, to all 4 cops need to be put to death, to all cops everywhere need to be put to death. I have not heard a single correct answer which is: they should stand trial. Which is happening. Which means your riot/protest is superfluous, except for the looting stuff.

In a way we are in a state of perpetual revolution. Constantly changing while ironically staying the same. I believe natural law will prevail. Who knows? I know that I don't. That is what makes America so much fun.
