lol watching these review refs in the booth!Ā  So clueless:Ā  "ummmmmm.....uhhhhhh.Ā  is there a reverse angle?Ā  Ummmmm....dude........uhhhh I'm gonna let the call stand i guess".

Ā

So bad.

Not really why wouldn't he be looking for an angle to get a view that would allow them to reverse it?

Ā

The guy was clearly short--got lit up at the 1.Ā  Even the color guy called it.

Ā

Yesterday a team went for it on 4th and 1 and the play gets easily 2 yards, yet the refs spot it back at the line of scrimmage (i.e. a yard short!).Ā  Another sweaty review by the schmo in the booth for 10 minutes to decide what everyone at home could see in real time.Ā Ā

The transparent review process is great

Ā

Ā

It's like sausage being made.Ā  And the guy blew the call.

thatā€™s probably similar toĀ how the NFL replay guys do it. Ā But weā€™ll never know what goes on behind the curtain there. Ā Only so many ways you can dissect a play from the replay booth

No it was clearly close all he had to do was break the plane and we don't get a good view of the ball at that moment right at the line.

Ā

Also that review yesterday was fine the only thing I wish they did different was review the spot before doing the measurement and it didn't take anywhere near 10 minutes.

Ā

Vipers can not get things done in the redzone.

My point was that this guy seemed very uncomfortable in the job someone gave him.

They weren't going to review until the refs called for the measurement.Ā  The whole process took far too long.Ā  It was an obvious 1st down.Ā  The review should have been possible by the guy in the booth immediately calling down and saying "bad spot.Ā  First down".

I'm not sure it's really adding anything. I learnt more from Blandino afterwardsĀ

Ā

Ā

Exactly.

Blandino simply commented on the ref's comments...

Ā

Its nice that they have him around, though

Ā

Ā

He should do these reviews.Ā Ā

He explained though what was the definition ie. The footballing move. That's the bit I find helps (know what the specifics are, so you can personally judge)Ā

I'm guessing the level of expertise is a bit higher in the NFL booth reviews, than whoever it is they have doing it here.

Seems more like your issue is the spot the refs made on the field but that's what the review is for in important moments like 4th down and I already agreed that the review should of happened before the measurement. Still saying that whole process took 10 minutes is ridiculous I doubt it even took 5.

So Landry Jones was supposed to be the big QB in this league and ESPN even did a big write up on him earlier this week

Ā

And he's not playing

Ā

I mean....he sucks, though. No one should really put any stock in the fluff pieces for this league.

Ā

Have any of these coaches designed plays for the double forward pass?

Brandon Reilly....

Love love love the transparency on replay reviews. They have to bring this to the NFL. Wonder if they realize this will actually help the game. First of allĀ itā€™ll holdĀ Riveron and the rest of the of booth review officials accountable. Second, weā€™ll get to see how they went about the call. Even if it doesnā€™t go your way, you can at least understand how they got there.Ā
Ā

Lastly, Pat McAfee was made for the XFL.Ā
