New York (again)

Recommended Posts

Over the weekend we told you that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that he doesn’t think anybody should be prosecuted for the disaster that the state’s regulations brought to residents in nursing homes.

With that in mind, at today’s press briefing, Cuomo said he’s got a “top priority” and has had it all along:

Wow..........Just wow.

If you are going to lie , might as well make it big

N.Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo's careless cruelty shows in coronavirus nursing home policy

by Tammy Bruce

Original Article

The core of cruelty defining New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo marches on. As many contend, his policies are responsible for the shocking number of deaths at nursing homes in the state. In a response to a reporter inquiring about the situation, Mr. Cuomo declared, “He [President Trump] worked it out so we always had available beds. Nobody was deprived of a bed or medical coverage in any way. And still people died. Still, people died. Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen despite whatever you do.

Save the date. Tomorrow, at 1PM EST Harris Faulkner has booked an out of state nurse named Patrice Rusu who volunteered at a hospital in NYC to talk about how badly Sugar Nipple's policy on Nursing Homes was.

Now not only in NY, but in NJ the legislature is also now calling for an independent investigation into the matter. Murphy is totally clueless, so he just copied and pasted all of Sugar Nipple's policies and had virtually the same policy.

Cuomo downplays calls for federal probe into nursing home coronavirus deaths: 'Ask President Trump'

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday brushed off calls for the Department of Justice to open an investigation into the massive number of deaths in the state’s nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic – claiming he was only following guidelines from the Trump administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While no formal probe has been announced, the speculation comes amid scrutiny of his March 25 directive that required nursing homes to take on new patients infected with COVID-19. The order stated that "[nursing homes] are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission."

Nursing homes in New York – which has been the epicenter of the public health crisis – have been particularly devastated by the pandemic, with the death toll in the facilities topping more than 5,000 as of earlier this week. Cuomo recently issued a new directive stating that hospitals cannot send patients back to nursing homes in the state unless they test negative for the virus.

Them, Georgians, Coloradians (?), Floridians should all be dropping like flies by now.

Pretty sure Sweden & Denmark should be decimated as well.

Maybe there's things we still don't know.

I know.  I saw a scary headline that they're worried about an uptick in cases in France, only to see that the uptick is to 800 new cases in a day, because they weekend numbers were very low.   I love massaging data to prove my points!

Know a couple of octogenarian retired nurses that have maintained their nursing licenses that have had the state reach out to them to come back to work.  What could possibly go wrong in that scenario.  <_<

(Realize they're likely reaching out to all nurses that currently aren't practicing, so this isn't actually an intentionally direct inducement to off additional 80+ yo citizens; but it is a very bad look & the beaurocrats need to start thinking before doing.)

AP count: Over 4,300 virus patients sent to NY nursing homes

By BERNARD CONDON, JENNIFER PELTZ and JIM MUSTIAN
Updated: May 22, 2020 05:01 AM

NEW YORK (AP) - More than 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York's already vulnerable nursing homes under a controversial state directive that was ultimately scrapped amid criticisms it was accelerating the nation's deadliest outbreaks, according to a count by The Associated Press.

AP compiled its own tally to find out how many COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals to nursing homes under the March 25 directive after New York's Health Department declined to release its internal survey conducted two weeks ago. It says it is still verifying data that was incomplete.

Whatever the full number, nursing home administrators, residents' advocates and relatives say it has added up to a big and indefensible problem for facilities that even Gov. Andrew Cuomo - the main proponent of the policy - called "the optimum feeding ground for this virus."

...can you believe this skank extorts an annual salary of $252,000?......we ONLY pay Big Fredo $150K for his "leadership"......

NYC Mayor de Blasio burns Memorial Day beach economy with police threats

Mayor warns police increasing patrols; bans swimming, large groups at closed beaches

Memorial Day weekend in New York City won’t look quite the same as years past, as the novel coronavirus pandemic has caused beaches to be closed for large gatherings, sports, celebrating and even swimming.

Mayor Bill De Blasio said during a Friday press conference the Parks Department will be the first line of enforcement, with the NYPD around to step in when necessary.

"Anyone who's unhappy about that, anyone who thinks it's unfair, the buck stops with me," he said, as he laid out the rules for which activities would and would not be allowed on beaches.

De Blasio said more than 150 Parks Department personnel will be "out there in force to get the word out" at city beaches. And the city will also be adding to the NYPD's usual summer detail, with hundreds of officers on patrol.

Listen you unwoke bastard, what we really need to defeat this virus is $25 billion to bail out the USPS, to allow marijuana selling businesses access to banks, and to repeal the SALT limitations from Trump's tax cuts.

Well, yeah, I thought that was a given. Nothing fights a viral outbreak faster (or more effectively) than radically altering our electoral system to allow for rampant fraud and abuse.
