I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but got little response.  If you look at the mountain of data that's piled up across the country over an entire year, you'll find our Covid response has been like flipping a coin. If you flip it enough times, you're likley to come up with an equal number of heads and tails. This is what we've seen State by State. The deaths per million are almost identical across this vast nation. The statistical variance is minimal. The only real outliers are Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Vermont, and Maine.  What does this tell us?  It tells us that the far extremities of the country have done the best.  It appears to have more to do with geography than policy, but I guess that makes sense. If you can limit travel from outside, infected population centers then you'll see less spread of a contagious virus.

What I find very amazing is that how quickly the virus spread in 1918.  Yes we were in the middle of a World War but we did not travel then like we do now.   It's crazy how quickly it spread worldwide in 2020 with all the international travel we do as humans but what was the level of commercial airline flights in 1918?  Almost non-existent.  If we'd all stop the quibbling and freaking out and think about the historical aspect of what we have gone through and will continue to go through?  It's absolutely fascinating.

Ok back to the you're wrong and I'm right sound chambers........

Who?  What does Trump have do to with my point?  Go ahead.  Challenge it.

Good lord dude. You're a one trick pony if ever there was one.

Can't argue you a point you cry BUT TRUMP!!!!

I already said yes to this.  Death is death.  It's final. It sucks but when it's over it's over.  The pandemic of 1918 lasted about two years.  The economic and psychological effects of a lock down last MUCH longer.  And what advances?  They seem to have no clue as to what they are doing.  Look at how often things changed in the first several months of this.  They are still not in agreeance on how to combat this.  I say (again) virus gonna virus so let it.  We have a vaccine now that they didn't have in 1918 and we are almost exactly where the world was over a hundred years ago.  The arrogance of humans sometimes.

l effects of a lock down last MUCH longer.

Hahaha....seems like the psychological effects of this pandemic seem to be hitting libertarians, conservatives and republicans sooooo much harder than everyone else...because you know...they are forced with the simple fact that being a citizen...part of a collective effort...is the way to get out of this quicker and faster than acting like a myopic brainwashed idiot.

NOPE.  1918 got out of it much quicker.  How?  By getting out of the way of Mother Nature.  She's a B word and the left has brainwashed you to think you/we can outsmart her.  Guess what. We can't.

Smallpox.  Polio. Measels. Mumps. Diptheria.  Tetanus.  Whooping cough.  Just to start.

Agreed. We live in a softened, insulated society. In many ways it's something to be proud of.  The vast majority of Americans alive today haven't experienced significant sacrifice or hardship. We've been able to insulate ourselves from war, famine and most diseases. I remember looking at the statistics back when this all started and was amazed to learn that if you get past the age of three, you are at virtually ZERO risk of dying from anything in the USA....until you much later reach senior citizen age.  I believe this had a TON to do with our collective reaction. Most people simply never think about dying. Why should they? They are at no risk.  But with Covid our elected officials and government overlords delivered the risk of death at their doorstep every day and every night...just like ordering dinner from the internet. As we now know, that risk was always very, very minimal for Americans under 65.

Peloton?

No.  Airlines/hotels/restaurants/cruise lines that were able to weather the storm of the pandemic.  The pent up demand for these will be off the charts.  I plan on dumping them by the end of the year as most are either properly valued or overvalued right now.  If you bought them in April though you made a killing as the vaccine came out quicker than the market originally priced in.  I agree with @All_Pro_Billsthough and we won't see a long term post covid economic boom out of this.

The WHO Covid Report Is Fatally Flawed, And A Real Investigation Has Yet To Take Place.

https://hotair.com/headlines/archives/2021/03/covid-report-fatally-flawed-real-investigation-yet-take-place/

Honestly, China’s multiyear effort to suborn the W.H.O. in advance is at least potentially suggestive of a deliberative release.

Determining the origin of the SARS-CoV-2 virus should have nothing to do with politics. It is a forensic question, one that requires thorough investigation of all possible theories, and one that should encompass both the scenario that the virus jumped from animals to humans in nature as well as one related to human error in a Wuhan lab. But a fatally flawed investigation by the World Health Organization and Chinese officials and experts only muddies the waters, and it places the WHO further at odds with the U.S. government and the Biden administration.

Quote

A joint study group, consisting of WHO representatives and 17 Chinese experts, will release its long-awaited report on the origins of covid-19 on Tuesday, but you can read it all here now.

Unsurprisingly, the report promotes the theory the virus spilled over to humans in nature, perhaps from a bat through an intermediate animal host, and dismisses the possibility of a lab accident-related origin as “extremely unlikely,” and therefore unworthy of further study.

Of course, we already knew this because all the results were previewed in China’s state propaganda media two weeks ago by the lead Chinese scientist. The Chinese government received the report in advance and had tightly controlled the investigators’ visit to Wuhan, where the outbreak originated and where labs hold the world’s largest collection of bat coronaviruses.

Even before the report was issued, the Biden administration publicly questioned its objectivity and credibility.

This was around the time I'm told Trump was supposed to stop the aresolized virus with a 0.15% IFR

Stay safe at home everyone.

We don't know if the vaccine will need a booster so we'll still be doing this come May.....of 2022.   Wait the kids need the vaccine to.  The under 16s.  They won't be able to get the Emergency Use Experiment until January 2022 so just sit tight and we can have that 4th of July BBQ with no more then 10 socially distant relatives.

The Republican Legal Assault on Biden’s so called "Covid Relief Plan" Could Be Devastating for Democrats:

Sloppy language might imperil the president’s landmark law—and future legislative and administrative reforms, too.

BREAKING: Wisconsin supreme court strikes down Evers’ emergency powers — including mask mandate.

“At some point, state courts will have to step up to remind governors that no one elected them Dictator. Kudos to the Wisconsin supreme court for reminding Evers [D] of the importance and necessity of small-R republican institutions of self-governance. Now Evers has to do the hard work of governing by engaging the legislature in policymaking. Let’s see if he has it in him.”

The report, along with the fast availability of vaccines is valuable information in that it most definitely shows that the virus wasn't some natural, previously unknown phenomenon.  Nature leaves behind clues and evidence.  It's pretty sloppy.  You can find it in animals or in nature.  Human beings covering up something raze buildings, destroy files, arrest or kill people involved and spread disinformation like a shotgun to muddy the waters so much no one will ever know what's fact vs. fiction.

My own personal theory:  Lab accident.  It's not the first one either.  Everyone involved has incentive to confuse, obscure and lie about the details.

The WHO, big pharma, university research academia and all the crew in the Dr. Fauci world of epidemiology knew the gain of function experiments conducted there were quite dangerous but also valuable in inventing vaccines and cures, and no one wants the research and billions in research dollars to stop.  You have a crew of invisible university and third-party government organizations conducting very dangerous, very precise research in labs all over the world.

Since it happened in their lab in their country, the Chinese don't want to be held liable for their incompetence and what has happened and sued by every country in the world.

The ongoing SARS research is the core reason the fundamental building blocks of the vaccine technology were already around.  Why?  Because SARS and SARS the Sequel were *both* lab accidents in Chinese labs.  The first SARS accident was the reason the US freaked out and banned private GOF research for years on US soil, which ultimately only managed to chase it all to China who were ongoing partners in the research.

Of course the entire column was a repost from the Washington Post.

Don't you (and Tibsy, BillZtime, 716, and all the rest )  realize how stupid that you look when you criticize something that you obviously know nothing about ?

Especially for something as childish as the name.

and then you prove that you didn't click on the link which shows the WAPO connection.

Yet you felt that you had to post a reply that says nothing about the Wuhan virus, but everything about your shallowness.

Sites that posters here routinely disparage, such as HotAir.com (2006) and Redstate.com (2004) have been around since Bush and have writers that are regularly published in major newspapers around the U.S.

But , you know, it's easier to make fun of things than learn.
