Amazing how the National Press Ignores the Bills

After all the seasons of futility, this organization would need more than just one signature won to reclaim respectibility.

I would think the opposite. After over 15 years of being irrelevant, simply making it to the playoffs should be a big story. Next year the expectation should go up. Truthfully we aren't covered because we are a small market team and our core players are still relatively unknown. If we make it to a wildcard spot that will start to change.

Six of the Patriots 9 games have been against the same teams the Bills have played.   The Bills put up the same numbers defensively against those teams as the Pats did, the Bills shut down the high flying Pats offense, and the Pats were being hailed, until last night, as perhaps the best defense in the history of football.   How can the Bills get the same results as the Pats against the same teams and not even be mentioned?

Because we are the Bills, it’s that simple, two decades of no results, made the playoffs because of another teams output, kinda taints ones image. Yeah yeah yeah, blah blah blah, makes no difference until we get back to the playoffs under our own steam, and then we gotta win a playoff game, no if ands or buts.  We have zero track record for being formidable as a football team. That’s why. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and I see it plain as day.

Next year we will need to make the playoffs again and win playoff games, that’s all that counts, if we do that,  and have an offense that can score three four tds every single game,  then and only then do we become part of the picture/conversation. Jmo.

Go Bills!!!

Patriots get mentioned because they have dominated the league for 20 years and have the greatest coach and QB of all time.  They have crushed their opponents compared to the Bills.

Here are the Bills defensive results compared to how others have fared against the same teams.

Jets.  On average the Jets have scored 12 points per game.  Bills allowed 16 -   Below avg defensive performance
Giants. On average giants opponents scored 20 points a game.  Bills allowed 14 . Above avg. defensive performance

Bengals. On average Bengals opponents scored 16 points a game.  Bills allowed 17. Average defensive performance

Patriots.  On average Patriots have scored 30 points a game. Bills allowed 16. Above average defensive performance best game of year for the defense

Titans. On average Titans have scored 19 points a game. Bills allowed 7. Above average defensive performance.

At this stage, I ranked the Bills ahead of the Chiefs as the second best team in the AFC because the defense was performing at a high level

Dolphins.  The exposure game.  On average Dolphins have scored 13 points a game.  Bills allowed 21 Below average defensive performance

Eagles . On average Eagles have scored 25 points a game. Bills allowed 31. Below average defensive performance.
Redskins. On average the Redskins have scored 9 points a game.  Bills Allowed 12.  Slightly above average performance.

The body of work the last three games (3/8 of total played)  for the defense is below average.  For the season as a whole the performance is slightly above average.  Slightly above average is not bad. Its also not great.  I would call it a slightly above average defense.

Listening to the Dan Patrick Show this AM and he was bashing Josh Allen BIG TIME.  Said he is not a starting caliber NFL QB and that he is holding the Buffalo Offense back.  One of the other guys seemed to stick up for Josh and blamed Dabols play calling but Dan wasn't having it.

I guarantee you that Dan Patrick has not watched a full Bills game this year. He just looks at the stats and talks nonesense. Bottom line is 6 - 2

This phenomena of the national media ignoring the Bills has been going on since the AFL/NFL merger.

The only time the Bills were covered fairly was during the Superbowl runs when we were beating the snot out of everybody.

We start kicking A out of all comers.. like the Ravens and the Cowboys, then media coverage will pickup.

Probably both!

Every year a few lousy teams make it to the playoffs and get bounced in the first game.

Who really thinks much of them?

Bills are on their way to Cleveland with a 6-2 record.  Sunday evening they will most likely be 7-2 or 6-3.

No matter what the sportswriters say.

The media is very fast to ponce after a loss, If you want coverage then the Bills need to stop winning these freaking games

I just took a look at the stats.   Bills are 6-2, as we all know.  Bills are 3rd best in yards per game defense, behind the Pats and 49ers, and 3rd best in points per game defense, behind the 49ers and Pats, and NO ONE is talking about the Bills.

Small market team, no sex appeal, no big-name stars, nothing that makes the Bills interesting except that their defense is great and they're winning.   That's not enough to make them worth covering, I guess.   If they beat the Browns, they're a game behind the Pats in the division, and no one is interested

SF has plenty of sex appeal! I'm still staying outside the city limits though. 😵

I hear you though. Last night on SNF they mentioned the opposing QBs against the Pats this year have a combined for a total of 10 wins. Didn't bother mentioning Josh has 6 of them. God forbid.

Did we set it up that way? Are the Pats and Niners making apologies?

Because we haven't done it yet. When your best win is against a TEN team that has since benched its QB its not going to impress many. All 5 other wins are teams that have won 5 games combined and 3 of those 5 were versus each other...

We're 6-2 and trending towards a playoff berth by only Week 9. When was the last time a Bills team can say that?

The Patriots pass defense has a 48 passer rating.   Allen had a 24 rating against them.   Take away that game, against the best pass defense in the league, and Allen's passer rating is 92.  That is definitely starter caliber.  Unless Tom Brady (93) isn't starter quality.

The Bills are going to be 10-2 or 9-3 on Thanksgiving in front of a national audience.  Beat the Cowboys and the sportswriters will still be saying the Bills only beat the Cowboys.

What publications/broadcasts are you getting your info from? What would you like to hear and how often do you need to hear it?

Bills are 6-2 with Cleveland, Denver (at home) and Miami and Dallas.  They are going to win 3 of those 4 if you asked me. I say they win all 4.  10-2.

I thought it was something to do with small market team, but they talk alot about browns. I think our players and coaches give mundane press conferences don't do anything sexy and they all think we are not as good as our record says. They won't say it as they will look like fools right now, but once we lose couple games they be all out saying "I told you so".

You can bet your ass that if we lose to the Browns they’ll be all over it.

if the 2-6 Browns beat the 6-2 Bills they should be all over it. It will help confirm what many believe after watching our last few games.

If we are 11-2 or 10-3 after beating the Cowboys, I highly doubt our season will be discounted. That's the type of win we would need.

If bills lose to a bad team or winning team they will look bad either way at this point.
