i actually agree with this, no doubt i understand some "we improved" enthusiasm from either side but to think one is SO much better than the other (or headed straight to the playoffs) is homerism oozing from the glands.  baby steps people.

We're 15-17 last 2 seasons ,w/ playoff berth. Easily could be 17-15 if Clay catches pass in Miami and Allen didn't get hurt @ Houston. 

Jets are 9-23 in same span.

The last quote in your screenshot is how the Jets would win, if they do. Sam is great at dink and dunk. I think our defense is a bit overrated. Maybe it's their style of D that's hard to judge?

If either Taron, or Siran had to play outside, that would mean both White and Wallace we’re out? That would not be good, but it’s not high on my list of things to worry about.

What brought up that topic was the 3rd preseason game when both White and Wallace went down for a period of time.

Even at that point, the two Johnsons are not a terrible duo. And Siran would not be a terrible NCB.

I think they plan on re-signing Captain Munnerlyn after week 1. Veteran contracts are guaranteed before week 1. So Neal would only be an emergency CB for the Jets game. Beyond that I expect them to carry 4 outside corners, and it wouldn't surprise me if Neal is cut and added to the PS to make way for Munnerlyn.

I think they re-sign Munnerlyn, but I don't think they're going to cut Neal to do so.

QB.  Hmmm.  We'll see.  Sam Darnold should be better, but he wasn't overall as better as he's expected to be better.  He had a significantly higher completion %.

 

WR: Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder, and Quincy Enunwa >> John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Zay Jones?  Hmmmm.  We'll see.

 

RB, no contest at all.  If we can contain Bell, and put some pressure on Darnold, we can do this thing.

All the teams we played last year after the Vikes had "Keep Allen in the Pocket" on their menu.  The trick is so doing.

I think you’ll see Marlow or one of the OL released. Not Neal.  Beane said today on One Bills Live he’s not sure how long they’ll carry 10 OL on the roster.

I don’t know that any of us have a clue what to expect from our offense.  

 

Jets defense is stout up the middle but lack EDGE, with weak Linebacker/Secondary play outside Mosley and Adams.  

 

Our OL will be playing together for the first time.  Good and bad there.  Bad, because we have to hope they gel quick.  Good, because there’s a decent amount of talent on our line.   

 

How will we use all the new weapons together... John Brown, Cole Beasley, Frank Gore, Devin Singletary.... what will the tight end spot look like?.. Do Zay and/or Foster make a jump?   Has Allen progressed enough to efficiently use the new weapons?

I expect the O line to punch the Jets in the face early and often. They must know they need to win the line of scrimmage.
 gwilliams knows his weaknesses. he aint dumb he just aint that smart.
I do think our LBs better show they have improved at the run. Bell will exploit gaps left untended.

I really only see them being convincingly better than us at RB and Punter? WRs seem like a pretty even match up, as does Offensive Line since both teams have completely retooled their lines.  Jamal Adams may be a better player than Hyde and Poyer, but the tandem of Hyde and Poyer is better than Adams and Maye. Tre'Day is infinitely better than any corner on their team, our Linebackers are definitely better, and I think I would take Jerry Hughes over any pass rusher on their team. 

 

Sam Darnold is better at throwing the football accurately, or precisely, or whatever we’ve agreed to call it now.

Allen has yet to really show he’s a QB who gets the ball out quickly or looks for the underneath routes. That doesn’t mean he can’t, it just mean he hasn’t yet. If that’s been the focus all offseason for him, we are about to get a good look at it week one.

 

I don’t know why, but I am having nightmares this week of a Doug Marrone offense/game plan, where we play a stout front 7 (like the Jets), and come out with a game plan to run right at it, like a bunch of a-holes.
