Expand Look at his QB’s....Kaepernick, Tyrod, Lamar. All great on the run and limited passers. I think he gets the most out of these types of mobile passers. Roman’s the right coach for Lamar, though it does make you wonder if he can get him to become a different QB, or if he’ll stay with the run-heavy, option offense. 2

What he doesn't know how to do is how to get playcalls in a timely fashion, particularly in the 2 minute drill when the offense is going hurry up. It's a huge glaring flaw he never corrected when he was with the bills. You will never beat a good team if you can't get your ***** together in the most critical moments of a game. GunnerBill Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 He is the best running game coordinator of his generation and as we saw in Buffalo when everyone is drafting defenders to stop the pass there is some merit in being ground and indeed pound. His flaws to me have always been around building a complimentary passing game that is coherent with the rushing offense. It sometimes feels like he has had to stop running his offense for a play to try a pass. He'll do a nice job of hiding Lamar and winning some games, not sure it will do much for trying to develop Lamar to be a franchise Quarterback. 3

Expand And that’s why it didn’t work out. There is is no arguing that TT’s best season was with GR. Unfortunately season 2 started off the same way the end of season 1 did. Too many plays and unproductive results. Add in to that sufficient game film on how to stop TT. Make him a QB.
billsbackto81 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 If you're running a predominant run style offense which is the case in Baltimore than Roman is a great choice who is a very innovative mind in that respect. But... if you're saddling him with a QB lacking passing skills and IQ when it comes to reading defenses then you're basically doing the old wash, rinse and repeat cycle.
