Why would anyone be so interested in that? The origin of the Night King and White Walkers was already explained in the show. It'll be fun to see more details, but there's no big mystery to unravel.

I'm much more interested in the stories of the past rulers/knights/heroes, the Targs/Starks, origin of the dragons, and the real mystery is the Lord of Light.

the revived but heartless Catelyn Stark was a major part of the book that they lopped off without care for TV...

One of the take aways from this season for me will always be that I guess I dont understand math

It looked to me like the battle with the night king nearly wiped out ALL of Dany/Winterfell forces......then I watch Dany addressing her army (which did not even include the Winterfell Soldiers and i felt like I was watching that scene from Star Wars where Chancellor Palpetine was looking at imperial army WHERE DID THEY ALL COME FROM......the undead were roaming the castle at will and it looked like both the Dothraki and Unsullied armies were obliterated!

They re-spawned obviously...

So Arya Stark, master faceless assassin just forgot about the guy that chopped her fathers head off? The guy who's name she repeated along with the others for years? That really is lazy. They could have tied up that loose end with a throw away line. Poderick was his relative. They should have just had someone inform Pod his great uncle or whatever, was dead, or sent to the Iron Bank on business or something.

Or, if it was some sign of Arya being finally disgusted with all the bloodshed and she decided to let him live, they should have still addressed it.

I bet a lot of people said the same thing about Starr Wars I, II and III.

It could be the most brilliant idea for a TV spinoff no one at HBO considered ahead of time. Think about it! Game of Thrones: West of Westeros, starring Maisie Williams as the captain of an intrepid crew of Northern explorers, with a five-year mission to discover what lies beyond the horizon of the Sunset Sea.

I didn't care so much about the night king's backstory other than what was given.  As per the books, white walkers just basically hate everything with warm blood in it and hate fire and warmth and want to extinguish it all.

I didnt like how swiftly the white walkers/others were dealt with at the first human resistance.  It was just too easy for a threat that was pushed as being bigger than titles.

The books will almost certainly be different in that realm?  They have not established that kill the white walker who made the wights and the wights die thing.  In fact, there is an incident where a guy dies from a white walker, Sam kills the white walker, then the wight later comes for Sam/Gilly/baby.  So we will see.

Well, since we’ve deviated from the books it really doesn’t matter at all. But if you read the entire article, a lot of your questions would be answered.

“Little is known about his characteristics and traits before becoming the Night King, although he reacted with fear when Leaf plunged a shard of dragonglass into his chest. After becoming the Night King, he became nothing more than an emotionless killer with his only goal appearing to be to kill all in his path and add to his army, staying true to his nature as the first White Walker and being the ultimate embodiment of death.”

again, these are the questions that YOU had. Had YOU went out of your way and searched the internet and actually taken some time to read a little, YOU would have had your questions answered.

Still cant laugh any harder that your mad at me because you’re too lazy to look up the information yourself.

Enjoy.

Since you're so good at looking these kinda things up, I was wondering if you could be me a favor.

Do you know how to say "Douche-bag" in Dothraki?

If I was you, I’d probably learn to read, and learn to spell English before I tried to master Dothraki.

My point is that the article is saying we're "finally" gonna know, like it's a mystery. It's not, though. We even got a flashback to the Night King being created. It will be interesting to see the finer details, sure, but it's not like we're waiting to "finally" find out.

Star Wars gave us a brief origin story of Darth Vader, but we didn't even get a flashback for that. And Vader going to the Dark Side was much more of a process than just getting stabbed in the heart. There was a lot more "mystery" in that regard.

For the Night King, we know:

How he was made

How he gets White Walkers (sons of the north/freefolk)

How he raises the dead

What his motivations are

The Lord of Light is the big mystery. We have much less details and saw no physical representation of him that we know of.

I meant no offense FWIW.

Maybe if the books ever get published we might get the answers we seek
