2019 Mock Draft: Bills take OT Greg Little (Mississippi) at 9

Recommended Posts

I can't complain. since there aren't a lot of top WR's in this draft.

9. Buffalo (4-7) — Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss, Jr.

The Bills need to overhaul Josh Allen’s supporting cast on offense. Little has elite size (6-foot-6, 332 pounds) and athleticism. Top needs: WR, OL, CB

I think both Jonah Williams and Greg Little will be gone when we pick. I could easily see us drafting 15-18. Have a feeling we'll win all of our remaining games except New England. I called the losing streak, now I'm calling a winning streak. Allen gets red hot and puts us in a great spot to win some games. Bills finish 8-8.

If the first and last halves of the Bills schedule were flipped, they would have started out 6-2 or better, and then had to eke out 4-4 the rest of the way.  They might have had a chance, actually.  Green Bay is falling apart, and if Allen is playing well and is healthy they don't lose to Houston (no Peterman special pick six at the end of the game).

So if they get hot and win most of the rest, it won't be that surprising.  The current talent level puts them around the middle of the league, so if they finish 7-9 or 8-8 it will be about right.

Schedules with a lot of teams on the backend that are already in the tank or on the cusp of it........like these first two seasons under McD.........are a great way to finish strong and go into the offseason with optimism.

Whatever McD lacks in acumen he certainly has gotten a lot of it back in luck...........and that's not nothing........winning these games helps extend the shelf life of his "earn the right to win" message.     Finishing 8-8 or 9-7 would be a big boost to the program in year 3.

The first round in this upcoming draft should be pretty solid with high ceiling prospects regardless of where you pick.

As always.......they need to address positional needs in FA and via trade..........and then get BPA at a "money position" in the draft or trade an early pick for a stud vet at position of need(like Julio for example)............but don't reach.

This is quite possible, and if that’s the case we will certainly go WR I believe in that spot.

Who though?

Really?  Lots of options there, and I suspect several may even work their way higher up the board with combine and workouts.  This is a great year for WR, very deep class.  There isn’t the “Calvin Johnson” prospect that is a must take Top 5 guy, but there is a lot of talent overall.

Not sure why this board always thinks this draft class for WR isn’t good, it’s one the best in a while overall IMO in terms of number of quality prospects.  There’s gonna likely be at least 4 or 5 taken in the first round alone.

I suspect the first WR off the board will be late in the top 10 or so, but then I think 3 or 4 more at least will go in the next 15 picks and I wouldn’t be surprised to see as many as 7 go in the first.

These guys are all prospects with legit first round possibility and several of them have a shot at being first off the board as different ones are listed as the top guy on different boards.  Again combine and off season stuff will start sorting them out more.  In no particular order:

AJ Brown

M. Brown

N’Keal Harry

Harmon

JJAW

Metcalf

Butler

Still feels a bit of a reach for him at that point to me.

Why is it a reach?  For example, some mocks have him going top 10 to the 20’s.  So that’s right in the range he’s expected to go.

Merclaf is another her guy to watch for.  I’ve seen a couple mocks that have us taking Metcalf top 10 around the 9th pick...heck I’ve seen Metcalf mocked as high as #2 pick (but I think there is no WR going top 5 with D and QB needy teams at top of draft).

Again, seems the mood around here is less than enthused about WR class for some reason, but it’s an excellent year for WRs IMO, and many experts share the same outlook.  It’s a deep class, so even if we don’t go WR round 1 there will still be some gems to be found next couple of rounds

Hope you're right.  The trend these days is for WRs to get pushed up the board higher than people think, 2017 draft being a great example, with 3 going in the top ten, despite predictions that the Bills would have their pick of WRs at 10.
