The offense has put the defense in terrible spots all year. Good to see the offense hold its own, for once. transplantbillsfan
11 hours ago, Warcodered said: You're saying that from yesterday when you thought there was a 58% chance of Allen starting that it's believable that he's still out two weeks from now due to that injury? Also it kind of is obvious at some point a player has to learn from being on the field and the last 6 games of a 3-7 season is a perfect time for that. 6 hours ago, 26CornerBlitz said: 3-7. That's why you saw so many young players on the field against the NYJ and it's why it makes sense for Allen to play. Bills Today: McCoy: That Big Monkey is Off My Back Come on guys, the reason this isn't a no-brainer is obvious. 2 months ago McDermott and Beane seemed to be going into the season believing (stupidly) that Allen would benefit from being the backup QB and learning on the bench while another QB led the team. Their foolishness stemmed from thinking Nate Peterman could be that other QB. Then they had to insert Allen. They were absolutely forced to. Then Allen got hurt and after a quick reminder of the ongoing Peterman mistake, Anderson became the starter. And if Anderson were playing like Barkley did yesterday, it's like hitting the reset button on the start of the season. He sucked too and we lost a string of games. Then Matt Barkley comes in and has the best QB performance this football team has seen since Taylor against Miami on Christmas Eve in 2016. And our offense is utterly dominant against a decent defense. I saw a graphic flash that we had the 3rd best offensive output for a half in team history. That's amazing. This team is 3-7. We suck. We aren't making the playoffs, yet we are mathematically still in it. You can't make a move for the sake of development. You MUST make a move according to what helps your team win. And McDermott will make his next decision according to that, and that alone (along with the health of Allen's elbow) because it's obvious that's what he cares about. And he could go either way, but the simple truth is that Barkley-until-he loses is the easier choice. Personally, I think benching Barkley after that game would take guts, and I don't know if McDermott has the guts to do it. After all, he didn't have the guts to name Allen the starter over the Summer when it was obviously the right move.

26CornerBlitz
Bears, Colts, Saints among NFL's statement makers in Week 10 9) Sean McDermott still has the Buffalo Bills' attention Matt Barkley under center? No problem. Buffalo humbled/embarrassed/smoked the Jets in New York, 41-10. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Jets don't plan on firing Todd Bowles during the season, but let's be honest: He's done. The Bowles era of Jets football is on borrowed time, with the unofficial dagger coming in a 31-point home loss to a lowly division rival on its fourth starting quarterback. It's a shame that McDermott botched the QB situation for much of this season, particularly when he kept turning to Nathan Peterman, who shouldn't even be in this league. Beyond that bizarre blind spot, McDermott can flat-out coach, especially when it comes to defense. And Buffalo's effort on Sunday was telling. Despite being well under .500 (3-7), these Bills are still competing every Sunday. Now, fix the line and get some receivers in the offseason. Give the raw-but-talented Josh Allen a chance.
