Democrats desperate for ´someone new´ in 2020: poll

.

So early. I see Mike Bloomberg is going to spend/waste  $100 million of his own money on the nomination. Not sure why. After his stop and frisk policy, can't see him getting the African American vote.

Sherrod Brown looks like a winner so far. Won easily in Ohio, that counts for something. Amy Klobuchar, also from Mid West, looks good too.

In the mid-terms the moderate Dems like Brown did VERY well, while the Progressives that ran in Florida and Georgia lost.

Any of the Dems will beat Trump, probably, but winning big is better.

I agree with you on Bloomberg.  I don't understand why he can't find something else to do with his money.

The Democratic Party has some significant internal problems.  One, the Clintons aren't going away.  Two, the establishment (Biden/Pelosi) aren't going to relinquish their positions to this younger socialist crowd who think they are the heir apparents.

Three, I'm sure Democrats will want to investigate Trump eight days a week but I can see the Clinton/Biden donors putting a kibash on that because the weapons you use today are the ones used on you tomorrow.

If the Democrats spend the entirity of the Trump presidency investigating him, the Republicans will return that favor and at some point you have to wonder if you're the Democrats, do we really want that?

Are we setting ourselves up for a future where every President gets investigated by a Special Counsel over something?

Not only do I agree that the Clinton's are not going away but the lack of Chelsea running for office this past fall makes me think that the Clinton's feel the longer road is the safer one for Chelsea.  They are waiting for the Clinton Foundation and other problems to become ancient news before Chelsea runs for anything.  Look for Chelsea to attempt to rise at some point during the 2020's.  Congress in 2024 and POTUS in 2028 while Ma and Pa are still alive to see their handiwork in action.

An open letter from the KoC to the two anti-Catholic Senators:

Dear Senator Harris, Senator Hirono, and respective staffs

Greetings from your local, Capitol Hill-area Knights of Columbus Council, Patrick Cardinal O’Boyle Council 11302!  We recently read about statements which expressed the fear that the Knights of Columbus held many extreme beliefs.  It is our great pleasure to assure you that this fear is not grounded in any truth.  The Knights of Columbus ingeneral, and O’Boyle Council in particular are dedicated to the three fundamental principles of charity, unity, and fraternity.

Well, you can cross Angelina Jolie off the list...for now.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-46699457

When asked whether she would consider getting involved in politics, she said: "If you asked me 20 years ago, I would've laughed... I always say I'll go where I'm needed, I don't know if I'm fit for politics… but then I've also joked that I don't know if I have a skeleton left in my closet".

"I'm also able to work with governments and I'm also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done."

She added that "for now", she would stay quiet.

When Webb suggested that meant she could be on the list of 30 to 40 Democrats running for the party's presidential nomination, she did not say no, replying "thank you".

Trump is a uniquely corrupt President and deserves to be investigated and jailed if (if?) he is found to have committed crimes.

The Republicans have been investigating the Clinton's as hard as they could have been for decades. Have you missed that or something? Selective memory, maybe? They are still investigating the Clinton's with their last dying breaths of a majority in the House. Your cry for mercy over Trump to save future Presidents rings hollow in light of the fact the GOP just makes things up to investigate.

But did it work? It’s a shining beacon of why profiling should always be employed.

we'd also be in exactly the same place iF Hillary had won.  Republican led House and Senate would be investigating Hillary non stop.  Russia, email, Clinton Foundation, ...

We would know nothing of the fisa abuse and illegal spying on political opposition. McCabe would be director of the FBI and we would be at war with multiple nations (in Syria against Russia).

The world would be burning. No one would have time for investigations.

No, we wouldn't.  We wouldn't have a special counsel, and the executive would stone-wall Republican Congressional investigations at every turn, invoking executive privilege to refuse answering Congressional subpoenas and giving hearing testimony.  And no one would notice, because she wouldn't be tweeting like an eight-year-old, which is apparently all anyone pays attention to.
