Rad Likes The Bills
Hopefully we don’t end up with the first pick in the draft... but if we do, and this guy is a no brainer for sure franchise Qb. Do we : A) Trade down and accumulate more picks. B) Draft him, add him to the stable of Qb’s & let the cream rise to the top C) Draft another position of need (Oliver or Bosa) Didn’t miss this game! I know it’s early in the season but this just feels like a year where I’m going to be paying very close attention to college football because we are going to be loading up on young talent in this draft! BuffaloBillyG
I feel like in the world of football, grown men use the word "stud" at an alarming rate when discussing 21 year old guys. Anyhow, to your question we absolutely do NOT draft a QB next year. Let's see what Allen is first. And pass rusher. We need a pass rusher. Jon Gruden says they are hard to find. 3

He has a lot of traits that will translate, great arm, great touch and anticipation, and his footwork is excellent. Big test next week against Penn State, we will know more then. 44 minutes ago, Boatdrinks said: It’s waaaay to early to know that. Check back after say, Thanksgiving. We’ll have a better idea. vincec
Obviously you draft him if you think he’s a franchise QB, without any question at all. If both then look like top players you trade one later for multiple #1 picks. Edited September 22, 2018 by vincec

If both look like top players you trade one later for multiple #1 picks. If you feel Allen is a franchise QB after his rookie year you are best off trying to accumulate picks in a trade down or draft Bosa or Oliver as a pass rushing force on defense. I think no matter what unless Allen looks completely tragic the Bills are going to build around Allen both via free agency and the draft. As much as I like Oliver and Bosa I think the better play is to trade down for a package of picks IF it includes a top 10 selection in 2019, a 2nd round pick in 2019, a mid round pick in 2019, and a 1st and 3rd in 2020. That would set the Bills up to get 3-4 primer prospects in the 2019 draft and set the team up nicely in 2020. But if the offer is much more modest in a trade down take the stud pass rusher and figure out the rest. Odds are the Bills will have spent significantly in free agency and hopefully will have less holes to fill. Significant Pass rushers don't often become free agents so filling that need for a front line pass rusher is critical for the success of the defense. So for an extra 2nd and a future 1st I would pass and just take the pass rusher.

If you don’t have a clear franchise QB and one is available who believe will be great, it would be silly not to take him. You can get back more than what you spent in draft capital for the other one if he’s good as well.
TigerJ
A major factor in the Bills' offseason strategy will be what they think of Josh Allen's development through the season. Supposing they decide they need to draft another QB early, at that point they have to decide which of several possible choices they might make. Haskins has one strike against him in that Urban Meyer does not have a stellar record in sending his QBs on to have successful careers in the NFL. Tim Tebow had some modest success as an unconventional QB for a little while, but not what I would call a decent career. It may be that Haskins will break the mold, but he need to do a whole lot more than he has so far to show that his game will translate to the NFL. You can get back more than what you spent in draft capital for the other one if he’s good as well. If you feel Allen is a franchise QB why draft another one? Allen's trade value if he has an expected rookie season isn't going to yield pick 7 or anything even close to picks 12, 53, and 56 that were used to trade up for him. This idea that you can just draft a bunch of QB and surely one will look good is flawed. Now if you don't feel Allen is a franchise QB then you make the move to get a new one. At some point you have to put QB's in a position to be successful. Assuming you have a top 3 pick that's a tremendous asset, if you use it to draft a QB that's investing a big component of what can improve a team. Should the Titans have drafted Jared Goff the year after they draft Mariota? No the Titans took an insane offer of 2 second round picks, a third round pick, and a first and third the year after. Once again this is based off the concept of the Bills feeling like Josh Allen can be a top level QB. Yes if he looks incompetent you can reassess. But there is no sure thing in the draft and there is no certainty that your previously drafted QB will hold any significant trade value.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
It’s funny but not 4 months ago I recall numerous discussions saying that the 2019 class would not have ANY quality QB’s. How a matter of a few weeks of college football changed opinions
bobs0108
I think Herbert from Oregon is also a top QB so it we have the top two pick their should be a few teams willing to trade up for a kings ransom.
