Trump Wants To Regulate Google

Recommended Posts

They're not quite as rude as yesterday, but still cutting off answers an awful lot. Funny to hear the Execs just continue to talk though, especially Bezos ?

And Scanlon is worried about her constituents being able to get diapers? That is her main concern with these guys?

Omg.  I don't think most sane Americans realize how evil and demented the Left has become.  I can't say they're stupid or ignorant I don't believe you can be this dumb.  Either its evil or they've been so horribly indoctrinated by the schools/universities that it doesn't matter.  Same result:

The article lists his specific charges:

Tampa teen charged in Twitter hacking case

Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren announced 30 felony charges against a Tampa teen accused of scamming people and perpetrating the “Bit-Con” hack of prominent Twitter accounts including Bill Gates, Barack Obama, and Elon Musk on July 15, 2020.

Investigators say Graham Ivan Clark, 17, was the mastermind of the recent hack of Twitter. Clark was arrested in Tampa early on July 31. According to court documents, Clark stole the identities of prominent people, posted messages in their names directing victims to send Bitcoin to accounts associated with Clark, and reaped more than $100,000 in Bitcoin in just one day. As a cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is difficult to track and recover if stolen in a scam.

Twitter's site, Twitters rules.

Just like the ToS here ....  they may not be enforced as much down here but they still apply.

If you spread Alternative Truths aka outright lies and push fake cures.  You deserve to be filtered.

You do know that that is not actually true. If they want to keep their 230 status, they need to abide by 230 law.  Now, they can do whatever they like if they decide to go full publisher (which they seem to be doing), but if they want to be a platform with that awesome immunity, they do need to abide by 230.

I am not certain how an attorney who is representing a client that has settled with CNN and WaPo for the client's defamation is spreading "outright lies" and "fake cures."  Either they settled, or they did not (hint: they did).

"Trump gives Microsoft 45 days to clinch TikTok deal."

Reuters reports.
Trump said on Friday he was planning to ban TikTok amid concerns that its Chinese ownership represents a national security risk because of the personal data it handles.... The proposed acquisition of TikTok, which boasts 100 millions U.S. users, would offer Microsoft a rare opportunity to become a major competitor to social media giants such as Facebook Inc (FB.O) and Snap Inc (SNAP.N). Microsoft also owns professional social media network LinkedIn. Trump had dismissed the idea of a sale to Microsoft on Friday. But following a discussion between Trump and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the Redwood, Washington-based company said in a statement on Sunday that it would continue negotiations to acquire TikTok from ByteDance, and that it aimed to reach a deal by Sept. 15....

Twitter could face a $250 million FTC fine for using phone numbers to target ads

Twitter disclosed in a regulatory filing that it could face a fine of up to $250 million from US authorities over its use of phone numbers and email addresses to target advertisements.

The company received a complaint from the Federal Trade Commission on July 28 alleging it had used data "provided for safety and security purposes for targeted advertising during periods between 2013 and 2019," it said in the filing. Twitter estimates the complaint could result in a loss of between $150 million and $250 million, it said.

The social media company admitted last October that it had "inadvertently" targeted ads at users through contact details that they provided for security purposes. Twitter (TWTR) users are asked to provide information like their phone number to help secure their account through services such as two-factor authentication.

Think Rex's post will get tagged with a "misleading" information warning or nah?

Trying to scare Americans with a photo taken when Obama was president?

Weird. Usually leftists are so accurate with their information.

I would add that if you're using these boxes to send out anything other than thank-you notes, you're not very smart. People with ill intent have easy ways to pull mail out of these boxes so they can grab the checks you just dropped in there. It's why you suddenly see these boxes locked up at night.

But hey...don't let truth get in the way of todays Liberal Outrage of the Day!

Next week's Outrage of the Day: Trump is trying to shut down public libraries so people can't have access to the internet! He's a dictator!
