I’m Roman Catholic and would never think to have God removed from the pledge.  But it is funny that a country that was settled by people trying to escape religious prosecution is forcing religion down people’s throats

They certainly accepted advertising dollars- like they would from most willing advertisers. Why should the nfl be the charitable recruiting arm of the military anyway?

Personally, I don’t care what happens during the anthem. If they want to stand, fine. If they want to kneel, fine. If they want to stay in the locker room, fine. If they decide to stop playing it before games, fine. It doesn’t enhance the overall experience (expect Whitney in XXV). It is a polarizing topic. It’s like taking prayer out of public schools. People are outraged for a little while and then it goes away.

 

This is exactly right.  The outrage goes away.  Years after schools are in serious trouble and we never think back on what moment changed it.

When you're at work you're an employee and have to follow the rules of employment.  During non working hours if you go to a business you're the customer and don't have to follow that businesses rules.  It's not a double standard at all.

I never said anything about religion.  I don't like religion.  I do however believe in GOD.  To me it is a difference

And if the crime rates are relatively similar early on, do you then see issues like once in the system you are more likely to see more issues with the law in the future contributing.

Do you think that police officers would even bother to go into the inner city over weed?  Those cops are scared for their lives due to fear of getting shot by people that hate the police.  I don't buy that comparison at all

I'm not debating that - I think you're right.  Then if the employers "crumble" so be it.  No different than our jobs - the best employees have far more influence.  

 

However if Brady, Gurley, Newton and Rodgers go to a baseball game - they can use the bathroom during the anthem if they want to and wear street clothes.  They can also stand with their hands on their heart during the anthem at a baseball game and if they don't like that some baseball players are kneeling, they have a right to not like that as a customer.
