I would be very happy if the Bills can get Mayfield, Darnold or Rosen.  I could find my way to accepting Jackson or Allen.

 

i think that Rudolph and White are likely out of the question now as it looks like they are moving up further to get one of the top guys, but I like what I've seen from both.

Maybe you can help me out here.  What exactly is the knock on AJ?  He looked great at Alabama.  Looked like he had all the throws.  The short ball control ones and the long ones.  I wanted us to draft him.  But, he didn't get drafted til the 5th round.  Why is that?  He seems to everything TBD wants in a QB except a top 5 draft pick.  He's tall.  An accurate pocket passer. A winner.

 

I do agree with you on the not beating out Dalton thing.  Dalton is the Bungles franchise QB and was before AJ got there. You gotta knock out the champ.  My opinion, Especially after seeing him play in 2015 was that, while he couldn't knock out the champ, he could probably go toe to toe with him for the distance. Doesn't mean he's not good by any means.

 

I look forward to watching AJ play for the Bills this year.

The QB we just brought in is a Christian, first and foremost. The new DLman - and I know nothing about his religion or politics - is likewise cut from a cloth that sounds perfectly aligned with what McDermott has come to represent.

To me? Rosen and McDermott would never, ever co-exist well. I am not trying to say that McD is anti-Semitic, or only wants Christians in his lockerroom. But part of the faith of truly reborn Christians is about submitting the self to the larger organism, to the larger path. For the life of me, I can't see Josh Rosen in that lockerroom. (Not to mention, he came out as a junior and McD has been quite expressive about staying with seniors. And if you think about it, in talking about being a senior he's talking about commitment.)

Thanks for posting! I read a few things about him last night, mostly pre-draft analyses and post-draft about his disappointment. I described him as Mayfield-like, only taller; though I mean that in the way he comes off as arrogant due to his fiery competitive streak.  Unfortunately, the Bills will most likely trade up and take one of the top 4 guys, and use a lot of draft capital to do so.  If EJ can be the guy, it would great if they were able to use the picks on filling remaining holes.

RollBillsRoll, thanks for the post! I think this could be a "win-win" situation for the Bills. If McCarron does very well for the Bills this season and Beane/McDermott still want to go ahead and play the rookie QB in his second year, I'm sure the Bills could trade McCarron and gain a high draft pick(s) for him. If McCarron does well and Beane/McDermott want to keep him as the franchise QB, then that's a win as well.

I'm pretty sure I can confidently say EJ is done as a QB in this league.

In regards to his altercation, he seems to show remorse and actually realize the mistake.

I had a drunken run-in with the law in college myself (like 12-14 years ago)

I was hammered on the front porch at a frat party, got into an altercation with another guy, cops showed up, him and I took off running.

Got sacked by a cop.

Arrested, ticket, court.

Got community service and a no permanent mark on my record thanks to a lenient judge.

I'm now a father, and a medical professional (physical therapist).

I don't know everything about Baker, but he doesn't seem like a Johnny football, he seems more like a young adult who made a dumb@ss mistake, and wants to prove to everybody that's all it was, a mistake, not a pattern of behavior that won't change.

 

Every single person on here has done something they most likely are not proud of.

Mistakes happen.

People need to stop throwing stones when they live in a glass house.

 

Im not throwing stones. I don’t think these things can be over or understated. They are just facts. 

 

The reason it is pertinent here is because an entertainment business  is potentially giving millions and millions of dollars to this individual who has shown poor judgement very recently. Poor judgement off the field, especially if recurring, doesn’t bode well for the success in the pro sports business. 

 

The money, power and acclaim that comes with graduating into the limelight doesn’t have the same sort of acceleration to maturitation that having to earn a living does. Imo

It was beautiful up there! It is hilarious that you mention the concrete. We had dinner with some of Ithaca's staff before the game. I made the comment that some of our players were truly wondering where all the skyscrapers were and how far we were from brooklyn! He laughed and said "don't feel bad, a couple of our guys were convinced that ya'll would show up barefooted and wearing overalls!
