Official: Josh McDaniels New Colts Head Coach; Update: Withdraws Commitment, Stays With Pats*

Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia are now with different teams and Belichick and Brady are about to become the last remaining elements of the team's dynasty (well, the Refs too). Now, with the other thread about Luck and the possibility of trading him somewhere, as speculated possibly the Bills, you begin to wonder if these two Coordinators jumped off the ship right when they knew Bill was about to tie it down in port for the last time.

Regardless of the opinion of the Pats, McDaniels has been viewed as a creative genius for the Offense, now we get to see how much was him, how much was Brady and Bill and what exactly his capabilities are absent one of (if not THE) the greatest QBs in NFL history.

Go Bills!

Edit: As an update, McDaniels has 3 of his coaches in place: Defensive Coordinator, Matt Eberflus, Offensive Line Coach Dave DeGuglielmo, and Defensive Line Coach, Mike Phair - per Albert Breer, Twitter.

Patriots’ assistant QB coach Jerry Schuplinski is expected to join Josh McDaniels’ staff in Indianapolis, per source. Also means Patriots’ WR coach Chad O’Shea is in play to become New England’s OC.

o’shea is such a Boston name

Didn't we already see what the offensive genius was able to do when he was fired from his last HC gig? More like we will be able to see what he can do with another franchise QB to carry him and make him look good....

I think Colts are going to be a dark horse team next year if Luck is healthy.

Mcdaniels and Luck should be a pretty lethal combination

I don't think they will be a dark horse at all. Since Manning, then drafting Luck, they have been in the conversation for about 2 decades as being contenders. Add to that, that the media has a short memory in regards to McDaniels because of his association and success with Brady and Bellichick.

I fully expect Indy to be media favorites as contenders next year as long as they have a healthy luck. Jacksonville this year was a surprise/dark horse. Same with the Rams. Indy will be shoved down our throats as soon as Lucks health and the draft shakes out.

Ok, so McDaniels waited and waited for the "perfect opportunity" and he gets-

-A team with a franchise QB with several health questions.

-An offensive line that can't protect said QB.

-Frank Gore as the lead RB at 107 years old. Mack should see action but is unproven.

-A defense that can't stop a Pop Warner team

-An owner that is one of the biggest dbags in all of sports.

Good call Josh. This absolutely won't blow up in your face. At all.
