Marcell Is Talking Tough: Says He's an All-Pro and Bills Treated Him Like A "Nobody"

He may very well go on and play very well for Jacksonville. He got a big signing bonus here and then his play dropped, he was late for practice and just didn't seem to care. I for one am glad they dumped him. He's one strike away from being suspended. He has great ability but seems to lack the drive. Maybe Marrone thinks he can save him. He just wasn't ever going to do it here. It's a shame they get a sixth round pick for a player picked third in the draft. The Bills have made some dubious draft day decisions over the years and this is just one of them. They could have had Julio Jones, A.J.Green, Patrick Peterson or J.J. Watt. But they pick this clown!!

I remember how very dearly I wanted the Bills to pick JJ Watt.  I don't even remember all the arguments people gave me against it.  (I don't watch much college football, but a colleague at work was a Badger so I saw a bunch of him)

It could be worse, as I recall opinion was divided here should we draft Jake Locker or Christian Ponder with a significant faction for Colin Kaepernic

so many in this thread bent over a former player and his money...priceless

how does it feel to have so much hate and animosity over something you had/have no control over and frankly, no business worrying your little hearts over a man, his job and bank account.

fare well Marcell, hope you continue to turn it around as it seems your doing and have a successful career.

now, get in marcias face and wreak havoc sunday!!

Except he won't and he'll be crying like the rest of those thugs.  Tom and the crew will humble them.  They will show that team the meaning of The Patriot Way!!!!!!!!!!!

On the field he was great before they hired Rex. Yes I'm on par with him because I know a million kids like him. He trusts no one. He's not a leader but he'd kill for you if you were his leader. Kyle loves him like a brother. You small Buffalo people want to hate everyone who doesn't conform to your small petty lives. And yes I'm from Buffalo. Still live in Buffalo. I understand what people like you and others here do to players who won't kiss your ass and accept Buffalo as heaven. It's a shithole and people who've been to other places know it's a shithole.

Youre the early leader in the clubhouse for !@#$ of the year.

This couldn't be more accurate.  Sometimes things like this happen.  It happened.  Time to move on.

Bills treated him like a nobody with a 100 million dollar contract. I liked him quite a bit ... but he needed to grow up and be a professional ... no more being late for meetings ... no more getting sent home before a game for some "mysterious infraction". He seemingly felt like he should get special treatment on a team that has advertised time after time that there will be NO special treatment no matter who you are. I was sad to see him go ... but ... for him to stay would have undermined what the coaching staff was trying to instill in this team from day one.

You've surrendered all credibility.  You know nothing about him.  Your heart bleeds for a guy who cares only for himself.

You've revealed yourself as a fraud.

Wasn't it under Marrone that "Some players were more Equal than Others" with Mario having his own fridge, special interview availability, etc etc etc

Mario had his fridge before Marrone got here.

That's right, how could I forget "the best DL in the league on paper" under Dave Wannstache

I'm hoping the Bills win a SB before Darius. I think he was forcing the Bills hand with a trade but is saying otherwise. I would love to hear Bean's take.

I don't think he had any leverage to force anyone's hand.  I think they knew it would hurt our run D to trade him, and they did it because they wanted him off the books after next year.

Dear lord.  Why do high character guys never have this problem?  If a team gives me a 100 million dollar contract I work my but off to prove that I'm worth it.  Not give minimal effort and then throw shade to a team when they trade you because you failed to live up to that contract.  I'm glad he's out of here.

Why do high character guys usually lack talent?

What are you talking about?

I don't like threads like this because I almost always side with talent over the coach, and most football fans always choose their team or the coach.

They did treat him like a nobody. They didn't play him, then they traded him for nothing and took on a bunch of money. It's ridiculous.

Larry Fitzgerald, Von Miller, JJ Watt, Drew Brees, etc...all high character guys.  Most superstars in this league are high character guys.  What are you talking about?

Perfectly understandable. I mean who isn’t forgettable if not Dave Wannstedt?

Fair point. I could be wrong... but JJ Watt is not a superstar. He has 1.5 sacks over the last two years...

I think you could find a lot of guys who are/were superstars and talented who people would question their character.

From Randy Moss, TO, to Lesean McCoy, Leveon Bell. Ben Rothlisberger. I guess it's what you consider high character... Ray Lewis, Burfict, Talib... I guess I just don't put much stock in to the character thing and think just care about on field production. I don't see much correlation between the two, only in extreme cases.

Correction: they treated him like a big fat nobody, for which he only has himself to blame.

When Watt was getting 20 sacks a year he was a superstar.  Your best example is Randy Moss as all the other players you mentioned always gave 100% when on the field.  It took Tom Brady and Bill Belichick to get him to play hard and even that only lasted for a couple of years until they decided to get rid of him mid season.  Dareus just seemed to get lazy once he got his money and it's smart to purge players like that from this team.
