Spare me the Peterman will rip it nonsense and the lame excuses for a dismal performance. He was historically awful and not even close to being NFL starter ready. He doesn't know what he's doing and he was darn near picked a couple of times by NE in mop up duty.  Now on to the task at hand this weekend with Miami straight ahead.

Obviously your opinion is the only one that matters and therefore must be correct. There are many reasons why some of us and I in particular don't post much. You sir are one of them. IMO  a quarterback who will try is going to outperform one who is afraid in the long run.

That's pretty darned weak if you're deterred by me.   Trying and screweing up by throwing the ball to the other team is better?  Okay, if you say so.

I would like to add there are studies noted on concussion treatment. The ones cited show it is better for the concussed player to take part in aerobic and cerebral practice activity after a concussion instead of bed rest or inactivity. Something with increased activity brain stimulus and increased blood flow to brain aids the recovery.

Of course this absolutely assumes concussed has no vertigo or headaches or vomiting etc etc that preclude this activity.

Terrific read, Thanks!

For someone who buries this board with copies of Bills news he sure doesn’t pay close attention.

Well said.  You really should participate more.

Bills rookie QB Nate Peterman practiced for a second straight day with his teammates Thursday, but head coach Sean McDermott said at this point he remains in concussion protocol.

Peterman is currently on step 4 of the return to participation protocol, where he’s permitted to participate in football specific activities, like practice on a non-contact basis.

Now we see in plain sight your motivation for making the ridiculous thread accusing Taylor of faking injury.  Sad.

Maybe you just expect more from me because I'm part Puerto Rican.

Weather Tracking

Dolphins at Bills -- 25 degrees, mostly cloudy

What to Watch For

Miami Dolphins (6-7) at Buffalo Bills (7-6)

The Dolphins found their offensive engine in running back Kenyan Drake. The tailback earned back-to-back games with 100-plus rushing yards. It's no coincidence Adam Gase's offense played its best two games of the season with Drake as the featured weapon. The shifty back displays an ability to make defenders miss in the hole and speed on the second level. Drake's dual-threat ability makes life easier for Jay Cutler, as defenders must be wary of quick check downs to the back. Drake should be able to take advantage of a Bills defense that has been gashed by quick backs, ranking 24th versus the run by Football Outsiders. Drake will also see plenty of passes his way as Buffalo struggles versus running backs in space.

Tyrod Taylor returns to the starting role after missing last week's Blizzard Bowl with a knee injury. Will the knee issue curtail the elusive quarterback's ability to threaten defenses with his legs? The Dolphins' defense can bring heat on the quarterback in the pocket, but if Taylor can wiggle past Cameron Wake & Co., there are yards to be eaten by a mobile quarterback. If Kelvin Benjamin (questionable) plays, the matchup with Dolphins rising corner Xavien Howard will be one to watch. Howard is a physical defender who could give Benjamin trouble at the line of scrimmage. If the Bills' No. 1 target is nullified for long stretches, it will be difficult for Taylor to move the ball through the air Sunday in Buffalo.

NFL Research stat of the week: After scoring 15.8 points per game and compiling 285.8 yards per tilt in their first 11 games, the Dolphins have averaged 31.0 points and 364.5 yards per game in their last two matchups.

This is SO TBD bills fan. We're IN the playoffs RIGHT NOW,but y'all wanna play a rookie that's thrown 2 TDs and 5 Ints for a whopping 50% comp %.

I don't think we can win so let's just start pre season early.

AMAZING

I think some people secretly want the drought to continue.

If the playoffs were to start today you would be correct.

However there are 3 more games and much can change.

To make the playoffs you have to be in playoffs position in the last few weeks of the season. Step one.

I want the  drought to end as much as any one else.

Fool me once shame on me

I think that frustration leads to some pretty reactive comments. Fans always said the Bills needed to clean house. They did. Now instead of sucking like everyone predicted they're in the hunt. And because they are overachieving fans now judge them more critically and have lost the patience they might have been willing to give if we were 2-11 instead of 7-6.

If you take a step back,  this season is a bonus. A rebuilding year that looks more like a competing year. Someone pointed out the Bills have never been under .500 this year. When has that happened last? Yet some are ready to fire the coach. (Okay, just a few knuckleheads.)

So don't sweat it. Enjoy it.

MIAMI DOLPHINS AT BUFFALO BILLS (OVER/UNDER 38.5)

Pick: Bills 23-17 (the over hits)

Point (EE): This isn’t 1993, and while there’s always a chance that poor weather can play a part in Buffalo (as it did last week), you’re going to have to go out of your way to convince me that any game is more-than-likely to go under a number this small. If (as it appears) Tyrod Taylor starts the game on Sunday, he, Charles Clay and LeSean McCoy give the Bills more than enough firepower to put up their end of the bargain on the scoreboard. The Dolphins have found something of a groove offensively in recent weeks; both in the air and on the ground. Running back Kenyan Drake (78.1), like Jay Ajayi before him, is leading qualifying running backs in yards per carry after contact (4.7), which should continue against a Bills team that is surrendering the 12th-most yards per carry defensively (4.2), a number that has gotten worse since they traded Marcell Dareus midseason.

Counterpoint (GC): While I tend to think football is a sport played by those with grit, Jay Cutler, allegedly, has a tendency to display lackluster effort at times. If there was ever a situation, 28-degree weather in Buffalo should do the trick. Should Cutler start kicking rocks down the field and the Dolphins revert to the team that failed to crack 21 points in five of their first six games we could be in trouble. Cutler currently has twice as many turnover-worthy throws as he does throws that earn our highest level of grade, which is the worst ratio in the entire league, not exactly inspiring. Since my everyday life seems like it’s pretty analogus to football, let me tell you that when it’s freezing outside and I need 16 layers before I can build up the courage to spend five minutes outside, I have really struggled to score touchdowns and the extra clothing limits my throwing motion quite a bit.

Another oddity is that some TT fans I used to “argue” with have seen the light and are now being called haters because they have seen enough of TT and are ready for a switch.

We all wanted to see Taylor to succeed.   His game has not improved enough for people to keep the faith.

If Miami played like they did last week all season, they’d be one of the league’s best teams.  It won’t happen 2 weeks in a row.

Not saying it won’t be a tough divisional game, but on a short week after an emotional upset win, and traveling north, I like our chances.  Cutler will revert to form.

Very well said Promo!

I give the Bills a 50/50 shot at beating Miami Sunday.

If they do we are playing a meaningful game week 17 down in Miami.

Enjoy it.

By the way how is Mr. Beeper?  You guys still hang out?

Isn't he still our starter and aren't we rooting for the playoffs? Don't we all want to see Taylor succeed?

Eh, you're arguing semantics. DD said on Monday that Peterman is out this week for sure. And he's right about that. But he also said that if they lost then Peterman would start the last two games (before retracting that and saying Taylor would start the rest of the season regardless). So bad enough to keep him out this week, but not bad enough to keep him out longer than that.

I'm not DD's agent, have no idea if he's legit or not but so far I'm just impressed by his accuracy.

I don't  know if the guy has inside info or not.  I surely will not mock him or say that he doesn't.  However, its pretty easy to come to those kind of conclusions and make an educated guess type statement.

Fairburn's prediction

Season record: 7-6

This is a tough game to predict. The Bills' offense hasn't been doing enough to hold up its end of the bargain. Particularly, the passing offense has struggled in the more often than not. The Dolphins could be due for a let down after beating the Patriots on Monday Night Football, but they also look like they are hitting their stride as a team and are desperate for a win. Miami's offense is hotter at the moment, so they're my pick.

Dolphins 24, Bills 18

Prediction: Dolphins over Bills
- Despite having a worse record than the Bills, the Dolphins — based on the way they’ve been playing and how it seems like they’ve started to figure things out for themselves this late in the season — have the more dynamic team heading into the week. The Bills are really going to struggle with the combination of Drake and Landry, and that could ultimately be what does them in on Sunday. However, anytime Jay Cutler is involved in a game, he’s shown a tendency to just have a complete clunker of a game that results in turnovers and multiple opportunities for the opponents to score points on shortened fields. The Bills secondary will have to hope that they can force Cutler into that version of himself, to really give this struggling offense a chance to pull ahead early in the game, and then effectively play keep-away with the ball as they run out time with LeSean McCoy. At the end of it, however, the lack of passing prowess for the Bills and the Drake-Landry combination and how they match up with the Bills’ defense is what leads me to the Dolphins picking up a victory over the Bills Sunday.
