McDermott has rocks for brains.

He is much more "traditional meathead jock/coach" than "brilliant young thinker of the game" which I was hoping for.

Doesn't mean he can't be a good coach though.  He will need to find a good QB however, or else he has no chance.

He’s just another conservative HC who is going to play it safe, punt a lot and preach about running the ball

He isn’t going to make a change now that he’s committed to Tyrod as the starter.

Even if it is iust coach speak, you don’t tell the media after the game one guy is your starter when you are going to make a change..

I highly doubt he cares what he says in a post game presser. He'll make a change if he thinks it's the best chance to win. Not becaus of some coachspeak line he makes to the media. I don't believe he will start a rookie on the road at 5-4.

I do like McD (compared to our past coaches) but this is expected from him.....he has no cajounes at all...he never did....he is the most conservative coach i think around......I do think they may give peterman some time with the 1st team this week though

so basically, he is as conservative as his QB Taylor who loves that 5 yard pass up the middle to a still receiver who is 8 yards short of the first down!

I absolutely think he cares about how he comes across. I doubt he considered a QB change beyond today otherwise he wouldn’t have said Tyrod is still the starter. He would have given us a generic”we will evaluate everything” like he typically does.

I never knew Ryan was conservative.

Lets just admit it:  We got a dud with Tyrod,,time to move on.

What are you talking about??  We were talking about the conservativeness of our coaches..BTW.....Rex Ryan?? He was pure sh#t as a coach.....Now your asking me about Taylor?  Okay i think maybe a switch to Peterman at this point may be a spark that is needed......

My original comment was that Mcdermott is a conservative coach because of his bad QB.

Thats it

Garbage time....yes. Does it mean anything? Maybe....maybe not. But we know what Taylor is and we know he's not good enough. We don't know what Petterman is yet. But man, it was so nice watching the ball come out on time and be thrown to WRs instead of Tolbert. We have lots of holes on this team. None bigger than QB. I don't know if Petterman will be better than Taylor. I actually don't know that he's not already better than Taylor for that matter. But,with the holes on this team, I would much rather learn more about Petterman. Win or lose, he's definitely more interesting to watch than Taylor.
