Kelly the Dog
I thought so, too. He looked better than I'd ever seen him. Even his interception wasn't a bad throw - reasonably accurate, and he gave his receiver a good chance to make a play on the ball. Plus they had to make a play to score, and he was throwing it up to Amari Cooper. That wasn't a terrible pass at all. The defender made a stud play. Plus he had a TD that was a clear drop, and he had another great pass that could have been a TD but WR didn't hang on. He did well. The one thing he didn't do was have game awareness that cost two five yard penalties but sometimes the plays don't come in quick or guys don't get lined up right. Those looked like his fault though. He threw a lot of good balls.
nucci
I still cant fathom how he is able to occupy a job in the NFL. I also wouldnt be surprised if he and St. Doug were more than co-workers. Have you seen the QBs in this league? Brandon Weeden was just signed
The Wiz
rightfully so!I did my best with him to try and pump the brakes but he was too far gone.
thenorthremembers
When did 6.2 yards an attempt, 106 yrds no touchdowns and a pick become good for a quarterback?
simool
Lets hope he does not turn into Daryle Lamonica...
SWATeam
When did 6.2 yards an attempt, 106 yrds no touchdowns and a pick become good for a quarterback? It is good..... for EJ
Dr. Who
I hope EJ plays well, unless he is playing against us. From the little I've seen in pre-season and when he came in for Carr last week, he looks more relaxed and has played reasonably well.
4merper4mer
rightfully so! Not really. We ended up with the lead and the Rex system blew yet another game. The refs helped too.
thebandit27
He didn't have Cooper/Crabtree/Cook, but he did have Watkins/Woods/Clay. I like EJ a lot; good kid that worked hard. He's simply not a good enough passer to be an NFL starter.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
Former Bill Lee Smith (and current teamate of Manuel in Oakland) pumping him up now that he's starting again. I really hope he starts against the Bills. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000856954/article/raiders-te-ej-manuel-didnt-have-what-he-has-now?campaign=Twitter_atn I see you found my post and started a thread . What was wrong with the EJ Raiders thread?

thebandit27
Remember when Lee Smith jumped into the stands after a TD and nobody caught him? I remember when Lee Smith tripped over the 2-yard line against Baltimore and cost EJ a TD pass...
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
When did 6.2 yards an attempt, 106 yrds no touchdowns and a pick become good for a quarterback? Are you talking about the 8 of 9 passes in that final drive that had a hail mary pass fail INT?

ChanOverChin
EJ is definitely a great guy. However, as an NFL QB he has poor mechanics. He short arms the ball, he doesn't always step towards the target, and he quivers in the face of a strong pass rush.
YoloinOhio
Is a better questionJim Dray never really felt the same. Those were some big shoes to fill.
Seasons1992
I actually wouldn't be surprised if Manuel lights it up this week against the Ravens in a home game. Some Oakland fans will probably believe they have a legit QB controversy on their hands. Yeaaaaahhhh.....I went ahead and took the Ravens. I have inside intel on EJ.......
