The Bills averaged 24.9 pts per game last season.

With Glenn healthy then replaced by Kujo . The OL was adequate

The Lynn offense fit Taylor strengths.

If the Bills had last seasons O and this year's D they could have a good season imo

No No No. Quit putting things in a perfect situations. He needs to adapt he is not a rookie. He was in this offense for 4 years. They gave him two seasons as the starter. There is no excuse for not hitting short passes with easy throws. No excuses, he needs to perform. His stats are decent at best. At a very best. All that off season making head lines to play like that. Look at all the rest of the young QB. Not to mention Dak. Last year's excuse no D. This year the o line. What's next? The coaches messed up now they have to stick with the hot Potato. I said it during OTAs. He was not gonna progress in this offense. He can not passss.

Stick to post-game analysis.

Just one more year.

There isnt many here that can tell me he is not at his ceiling and he is not improving

If anything when asked to be a QB regresses.

When playbook opened and asked to do what QBs at this level should do ge struggles.

2016 - It cost Greg Roman his job

2017 - It will cost Taylor his job.

Jones sucks and would take 7 more years just to get to Tyrods level of play. Stop being delusional.

Quit hating. What level? TT has been playing to level football dating back to V Tech and he is still a giantic question mark?? At least CJ. Did not and has not lost a game he has started. Just to mention CJ is coming from a winner pedegree.

Will be out of league in 2 years

Ok I know there are a lot of people that love him, I also know there are a lot that want him gone. However I figured I would start a thread to see what does he have to improve in your eyes to stick with the Bills at the end of the season. I know there are some that will think there is virtually nothing he can do, but there are some that are still on the fence with him. So lets say from him as a player what do you need to see for him to stick around.

I am not talking about excuses like well if Sammy stays healthy or stuff like that, I would like my QB to be effective with whoever is on the field.

Some of mine are:

Better anticipation on his throws, this is one reason why there is not a lot of YAC from these WRs, his throws tend to be late. This also hurts him with my third area I would like for him to improve on.

Obviously using the middle of the field, In this offense Clay has a chance to shine like all Owen Daniels (Clay is much more talented) has.

I would like for him to be much more effective against Man Coverage. Over the last two seasons, Taylor averages 9.3 yards per attempt against zone defenses (best), but only 7.1 yards per attempt against man coverage (fifth-worst).

Just a shorty Now if TyBo was 6ft3.. he would be aka franchise maybe... simple for me.. shorty

One more year. One more year I have to watch a RB playing QB. Just one more year

Correct sir.

Tyrod is average at best and filled with deficiency.

Further, the team will be moving on from him next year and they will be drafting the next big hopeful at QB very high in the draft.

More than that, about the QB position on this team, need not be said.

Not to say these make TT a good pro

But he is a 3 time ACC champ, ACC player of the year and won an orange bowl

well, i don't think he is a running back either. i don't believe he could take the pounding a running back has to take in this game in order to succeed. prolly a kick/punt return specialist at best. outside shot at a DB.

Maybe teach him routes and he makes a flip like Pryor did. Late in his career though to try that

Don't be ridiculous. He's a serviceable, mid-tiered NFL QB.

yep, a mid level QB that will win the occasional game against a good team but more so a QB who will lose against good teams and only beat the bad teams. keep you right about .500.

they have others word for QB's like that, back up QB or coach killer.

CJ will be lucky to ever start a game in the NFL. I don't care what you think he did in college. What did Tebow and Manziel do in the NFL? They were college heros. TT is a low grade starter but light years ahead of CJ. That is how bad CJ is. I cant even take you seriously anymore. You have to be a troll.

No. Jeff George and Jay Cutler were/are coach killer QBs. Great talents with questionable attitudes with a penchant for bad decisions resulting in turnovers. Tyrod is nothing like what I know as a coach killer. His limitations are well known and he has a great team attitude with a low propensity for turning the ball over.

Manziel use to show up 2 hours late to practice in shorts, just to run the 2 minute drill and end practice.

That's ******* balls

College hero is right

This is all after he won the heisman in his defense

Coach killers are the coaches too stubborn to move away from a QB that just doesn't get it.

You know what, after watching the Titans/Panthers, Broncos and who ever they played, then the Rams/Raiders, Tyrod isn't going to be the starting QB for very long. Those other guys were slinging it all over the field making all the throws, looking the part. Tyrod, nope, looking terrible like usual, can't read a defense pre snap, can't scan the field, late on throws, no pocket presence, etc the list goes on and on. As of right now the only 2 things he does better than Peterman is the long ball and scramble. The coaches are just giving him enough rope and it's just a matter of time. These coaches know what good QBing looks like and they know it isn't coming from Tyrod any time soon.

Peterman will be starting sooner than later regardless of how many lame excuses the Tyrod crowd can come up with. Bye bye Tyrod, good guy, good teammate, excellent athlete, absolutely horrible QB.

Is this supposed to be a bad thing or something? Who cares how a QB got good numbers? Isn't having good numbers what matters?

Do numbers count for more if the offense is hard?

Give me to 10th In points with a simple offense and a D that knows how many men are supposed to get in the field.

Point being, if a QB does well does it matter it came against a bad team or in an offense that was supposedly simplified for him?

So now we're throwing playing against bad teams into the equation?

There are no style points in football. Points are good no matter how you get them. Just win.

OK, so the takeaway here is that we should just care about stats and don't worry about wins. What marsha does contributes directly to wins. What taylor does, not so much. When the patsies need extra from brady, he delivers. Taylor can't do that. Teams win games not individuals but we need a QB who can put the team on his back and carry it for a series or a quarter or a half when the need arises. Don't know if the rook has it in him, last years Pitt-Clemson game suggests he might, we'll know a little more tonight. I for one, can't wait to find out.

I agree. His stats are average at a very best but he cannot lead his team to victory with his stats.Last month you mentioned the comparison to Brees and Rivers??? They threw for over 4000 yards which is hard to do. In this league. They have been doing it for decades. (Without a running game) Therefore, you can actually say, well it is not the QB. Now TT as a passer has only one game with over 300 yards. With a reliable TE,Rb, and receiver ( Woods). So what are you saying? He would miss wide open short passes on 3 Rd and 1. Filling his at average at best stats in garbage time or with sorry teams. Plus he looks awfull now and in OTAs and you are still defending him. Buy the way he is not getting 4000 yard passing.

I think it was actually somewhere in this thread that someone made a comment that there isn't anyone who is actually saying that Taylor is just a "RB playing QB."

Whoever that poster was, here is yet another example

It's good and bad.

The good is he's doing well for what's being asked of him, but the bad is that the passing offense is limited and when passing becomes vital like late in close games, he struggles mightily.

No not a coach killer. But a coach, and the whole front office killer to say the least. That is why Woods left. Which buy the way Sammy and Woods are very happy they left and will do a lot better with Goff. I was there in LA. The people like family members were there and said They both felt it was TT poor play holding them back. They were clowning and it was funny. Edited by Noogie75

This is just silly. Tyrod and the offense were at least viable and much more effective the last two seasons than the Rex Ryan defense. Woods left to get paid and go back home to LA. Your post is all fabrication that is completely divorced from reality.

I love this post....

...hey 'Cane, good to see you bro.....TT exhibits some of the same tendencies that EJ did and no I'm not comparing the two......processing the entire field in <5 seconds, trusting/spotting receivers, reads/progressions versus favorite target lock on, etc come to mind.....his wheels cannot and should not be a continual bail out...EJ had no wheels....Russel Wilson was smart enough to temper the use of his wheels when or IF the timing was right......you can't tell me that Buffalo's passing game is a feared component of this offense among 31 DC's league wide with a straight face.....I CERTAINLY understand that the "other 31" are exempt from receiving corp issues like injuries, trades, cuts, suspensions, etc and it is ONLY a Buffalo thing.....of course...so this is the kid's "make it or break it " year with Dennison as the mentor......keep in mind that a $6 mil roster bonus is due in March.....as the Mizzou gang says ,"show me"..........stay tuned.....

Are you even aware of the point I responding to in the first place?

Yes, it shows what your made off. Brees and Rivers ripped the stats on good teams where you can say 300 yards 4 tds in a loosing effort. Therefore, there is no question it can't be them that is wrong. Both teams had weak to sorry offensive lines. Figure Chargers had Gates. With Kenon Allen hurt.( Top receiver) Saints average receivers. But they both still ripped it up in the air. We had Woods and Our TE and what. Excuses Excuses Excuses. Edited by Noogie75
