Tyrod reportedly looking at real estate in BUFFALO

It's a fluid situation.

Trouble committing to one thing without other things happening.

My understanding is when I'm told "no decision has been made," that's essentially accurate.

It depends.

And talk of a rift, though great in continuing the narrative, is overblown at best.

Situation's still fluid.

Wouldn't hazard a guess one way or the other.

Best guess is things will start to flesh out after NFL free agency opens.

This is my reading of the tea leaves John, let me know if I'm that far off:

The Bills are more than willing to move on from Tyrod, but they will only do so if they can get their hands on 1 or 2 guys they have their sights set on:

Option 1 appears to be Trevor Siemian. Better passing stats than Tyrod, due $1.5M over the next 2 years & 2 years younger than Tyrod. This one is a no-brainer, problem is Siemian is a Bronco, so the Bills are hopeful the Broncos land Romo. If they do, perhaps they entertain trade offers for Siemian. There is no way he is being cut, at that bargain salary for the next 2 years. Another problem now, is that there are rumors the 49ers might be interested in Siemian if the Broncos are willing to deal him.

So yea......I could see how the situation is very fluid.

Paying Siemian $1.5M for 2 seasons sure as hell beats paying Tyrod $40.5M for the next 2. That additional $39M in cap space over 2 years could go a long way in helping other areas of need on this roster, and there are many.

With that said, if the Bills want to land Siemian in a trade they are going to have to convince him Buffalo is better than San Fran and Shanahan, which is a tough sell, IMO. So you can then expect the Bills and 49ers to get into somewhat of a bidding war as to how much they will pay Siemian if he comes in as a bridge QB. In the end, I think it'll be very hard to outduel San Fran.

Agreed. But I can confirm with certainly that Tyrod was looking at properties in OP. He's expecting his option to be picked up, but that doesn't mean it will be.

It's easy to be the Bills and wait until Saturday to shop all available QBs, and maybe get a proper trade offer.

Certainly certain that there's no certainty

Players don't generally get to decide who they get traded to. The GM usually decides that based on who is will to pay more in picks. Siemian is not a guy I would send picks for.

McCoy and Gilleslie were awesome no doubt. Just need a qb and it's on.

Scroll to the bottom. Aka the Tyrod/Osweiler/Simien tier http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?statisticCategory=PASSING

Passing yards are not considered to be a very good way to evaluate QB's by many people because they include the yards after a catch that the receiver runs for.

The Bills were dead last in the NFL as a team in YAC. Roman's offense in SF was usually near the bottom of the NFL in YAC too (25th, 24th, 30th & 31st in his 4 years there, with 2 different QBs (smith & kaepernick) and KC was ranked 6th this year in YAC with Alex smith so I don't think it was him...). I just don't think Roman's offense is very well designed to get receivers lots of YAC.

If you're going to point to passing yards to measure the QB, you should look at QB air yards IMO. They show the actual yards that a QB throws for himself, and not what the receiver ran for after the pass.

Tyrod was #16 in air yards in 2015 and #22 in 2016 -

But air yards still doesn't take into account the amount of pass attempts the QBs had.

Yards per attempt is a good stat to look at, when looking at QB passing - https://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/player-passing-yards-per-attempt-statistics/2015/

Here's a pretty decent article on the different metrics to evaluate QBs if you're interested -

Man, you're not a Troll.

I am confident that you want this team to be successful just as bad as anyone else. I see your point of view and yeah Taylor played bad games like any other QB in this league is capable of doing. I think the deck was stacked when you look at who he was throwing to and our awful defense didn't help. I give Taylor an incomplete, I want to see more and we've stuck with QBs who were far worse off than Taylor. I don't think this years QB class is good, I like Cardale from the little I saw.. and we draft whoever they like available late in the draft or an UDFA. It would disappoint you if Taylor was retained and it'd signal confidence for me.

Difference in opinion is ok.

It's necessary.

You must be new here. Welcome. Just ignore Ryan.

You know what passing yards from a QB do though. They help attract a FA WR if the QB actually throws the ball and accumulates passing yards and TDs. In the end a WR is graded and paid based on his production. If the QB hampers that in any way, IMO said WR will look to go elsewhere as there are generally many more attractive options with better passing QBs.

I am someone who is hoping that TT is the Bills QB in 2017.

With that said, I think that TT moving from his apt just makes him very MOBILE.

Now he is ready to run, if the situation calls for it. (so to speak)

So Tyrod is one of the worst QB's in the NFL in throwing the ball so his receiver can get additional yards and you blame Roman? This is typical. Maybe if Tyrod could throw bread and butter NFL throws like a SLANT PATTERN he could hit WR's like Hogan (gone), Woods (gone), and Watkins (if Tyrod stays likely gone).

Tyrod throws the go, curl, and out patterns. That's why he doesn't have RAC, not the OC as WR's are seen running wide open over the middle all year but Tyrod doesn't see them.

I guess it's a chicken/egg thing. Is Roman's offense heavy on out routes because he likes to play ball control/take few chances, or did he design his offense that way because he 'knew' Tyrod couldn't make throws over the middle for YAC?
