Comical to hear and read about commentators at ESPN calling the Bills situation a dumpster fire. Maybe people in glass houses should not throw stones.

Latest figures show the big "sports" network losing subscribers at record levels. Maybe 10 million in a couple of years. 1 million in the last couple of months. I guess throwing out crazy headlines for click bait is how they now operate

What's causing this cord cutting revolution is the basic law of economics. The millennial generation and many older generations are realizing that cable tv is crap. Gimme YouTube & Facebook and sites like WGR & TBD and I can follow the Bills better than a network like ESPN can. If you are Cowboys or Patriots fan I bet you don't mind the nob job coverage ESPN gives your squad.

Funny that you should mention Whaley given that I am convinced that it was Whaley or people close to him (with his consent) who undermined Rex anonymously with people like LaCanfora etc. Hmmmm.

Because you are convinced does not make it true. No one knows who is saying what to whom.

Mario went to the right team as the Dolphins are 10-5 and in the playoffs and the guy could end up getting a ring for sitting on the bench.

The Buffalo Bills are a dumpster fire for hiring a 4-12 head coach and now allowing the same guy who had a hand in hiring the last two Bills head coaches go on to hire another one. The interim HC said he wasn't even in the room when the decision was made to sit Tyrod Taylor. Really shows the world this FO has no clue to have the HC go to a PC uninformed.

Oddly enough the defensive guy that was just fired got the offense to look pretty good by bringing in players he wanted in the QB and OG. Now the team might not be keeping that QB.

For some reason, my skepticism about this team making the playoffs anytime soon is still running on high.

Lets see what on player recently said when asked about Great Players Coach Rex Ryan.

Here's what one #Bills defensive player told me when I asked about Rex Ryan getting fired this week: "That was music to my ears." Welp.

I didn't know Mario was back? B-)

A lot of players loved Rex's bravado, but many more never were never "All In" with his scheme. Felt like he tore down the best thing going.

Kim should put up a twitter poll to see how fans feel about this.

MARIO was right.

yes but he is a selfish lazy player.

Kyle never quit no matter what.

This would maybe mean something if these guys went on the record or Ty Dunne asked them how they explain not tackling.

Rex's fault for not having them practice it.

So basically a good contingency of players acted like babies because they didnt like the scheme and liked the old one better so they decided to not be "all in" yet its all rexs fault the defense sucked.

Look, rex earned his firing. No question. 10 men on the field, challenges that make no sense, the punt in OT. Stuff like that has been goin on since he has been here. But this narrative that he destroyed some great defense single handedly is a bunch of crap. These players acted like a bunch of female dogs since the day the scheme changed. It wasnt a great defense in 2014 anyway. I dont care about what number defense they were. They folded like a deck of cards when the playoffs were on the line too. These olayers trashed this defense just as much as rex. Get over it.

I think it was more not good at it which led to not liking it.

I still need live TV, hard to watch sports without it. Also TV shows are old and delayed on Netflix and hulu. Cable bill sux but is worth it if one can afford it.

Guys stop we are all fans of the bills, we are family, you all are a little right about what you are saying

Familys fight all the time. This board would be a wasteland if everyone had the same opinions. I do agree with you on this subject everyone posting is right to a degree but can't see that in posts other than their own.

there really are not any other suspects other than people close to him who leaked with his consent.

The Pegulas. I honestly believe they realised by the end of year one they had screwed the pooch with Rex Ryan. I think their relationship with him has been as strained as Doug's this year. They made him fire his OC you will recall and held meeting with players WITHOUT the Head Coach.

You seem to think there is a big conspiracy here where Doug played the Lady MacBeth character whispering into ownerships ear on Rex Ryan. I submit that they got to the conclusion he is a poor Head Coach all on their own.

Mario and Rex are actually very similar in that their best days are past them. At this point, both are just trying to figure out ways to hang around and still get paid.

It has to be a hard decision when you know the game has passed you by (physically, mentally) but just being on a roster for another year or two will get you a couple million.

I'm not a big ESPN fan, by any means. But in fairness:

17 year no playoff streak

No head coach

No QB

31st passing game in the league

Nine head coaches since Marv

Hired Rex Ryan, who has more losses since 2010 than any other HC

Hired by meddling owners who know nothing about owning a football team

Fired Rex Ryan after two terrible seasons

Fired after "leaks" from God knows who

Tyrod Taylor situation with his "injury" and contract

That, my friends, is the textbook definition of a dumpster fire.

Granted, I'm one of those morons who thinks we're a coaching staff and a QB away from being a powerhouse. But ESPN's "dumpster fire," label is a fair one, considering the current state of the team.

No, I do not have a recording of the call between LaCanfora and his source. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the source is Doug Whaley (or people close to him with his blessing) for the reasons previously stated.

I am sure that explains whatever you want to call Gilmore's tackle.

The Pegulas are probably the last people in the Bills' organization whom I would suspect as a source for Jason LaCanfora or the guys over at TBN.

That is kind of like suggesting that Silent Stan Kroenke is a source or Arsene Wenger is an anonymous source for Duncan Castles.

1. Why does one have anything to do with the other?

2. Trotter is right.

3. Bills' troubles are entirely of their own making. ESPN (along with many other TV properties) are losing viewership due to changing viewing habits. The ESPN as a whole is still gigantic.

But yeah, continue your rant.

ESPN sucks. I moved to Newfoundland 13 years ago and at first I missed it because you can't get it here. We have TSN and Sportsnet. I no longer watch the highlight shows like Sportscenter, even though they have it on TSN which is owned by ESPN. Same music and everything, just different highlights (mostly hockey) and different talking heads. I only watch live sports programming now. Don't miss their BS one bit anymore. I can get information from their website if I want their opinion, but most of the time I only read the results, not the editorial opinions.

All fair points but.......

31 teams do not wiln the super bowl each year. 31. Half a dozen will change coaches. All fan bases revolt and go gaga at the end of each year and want changes.

I live in the Carolinas- these people wanted Ron Riviera out of town on a rail for a couple of years- after the Bills beat them a couple of years ago it was awful- suddenly they go 15-1 last year and all is roses- they are out the playoffs this year and the natives are restless again-

Oh - and by the way- scathing article in the local paper last week about the GM- Dave Gettleman- and how he won't do interviews or press conferneces. Zero done in season. Zero. Maybe Sully could contact him and explain to him the errors of his ways.

My point is that the national media and the local media nabobs love to exaggerate problems and have the sky falling all the time- click bait is what it is.

It's pretty simple- if you are not winning you make changes until you find the combination that gets you winning

I think you underestimate them. They had decided Rex was a bad hire... why not leak a few stories about dysfunction to act as a convenient secondary factor for firing an almost .500 Head Coach after two seasons?

I think the Pegulas have wanted Rex gone for a year and considered firing him after 1 season. They had CLEARLY lost some faith in his judgment when they started holding meetings with the players about firing his OC wihout him present and as soon as this season looked to be getting away from them it would not at all surprise me at all if they started cultivating the media landscape for the inevitable firing.

And I applaud them. They got it wrong they put it right. The only thing I'd have liked to see is a Jeffrey Lurie style "mea culpa" press conference on Wednesday before the sent poor old A Lynn out to face the lions.

No worries. I am tired too.

Search we definitely miss, but wasn't he a salary cap issue and he wanted more money than we could pay.

I also would be good to still have that kid that we let go for some reason and now starts for Pittsburgh (Ross Cockerel). I always heard from people who follow Duke football how the kid was very smart and a team leader - together with having great instincts.

Ross cockerel would be a good safety for rex to develop in his system. He diagnosises plays well; just physically slow to react correctly with good form and technique.

Bradham was nit his guy because he was unable diagnosis plays and make the reads; he wasn't a universal LB. He is a downhill thumping middle linebacker.

Searcy would he able to fill in at CB and Darby would have gone inside w Seymour and Roby. With such a system we could have and should have played a better nickel and dime formation.

Losing Rambo was also foolish. I would guess this came from rex more than Whaley, coaches make the cuts. (Oddly, bush is on the team because rex, too). Rambo would have filled inn too stop the run when we failed to do so. Rexs penetrating middle d left too much exposed and Hughes lost his skill set of contain and ball playing.

In an ideal world, Hughes would be pass rush specialist, Mario there on run downs and you end up with a great rotation. Mario was going to renegotiate with Rex Ryan here

His comments are clearly backed up by his amazing play on the bench in Miami. This windbag is the last clown Id use to Make a point.

Mario's points =/= his play

His points and comments can be right with him being a ****ty player. And his points were right. And he has accomplished more in his career than rex by a large measurement

I always liked Rambo and it was sad to see the Dolphins sign him . . . especially given that we had to sign a safety about a week or two later.

we needed a backup for Aaron Williams the minute we planned to start him. He needs to retire
