Trump foreign policy

Recommended Posts

Ya, no. This can go here or it can go under Trump lies. The mistake was pulling out of a deal that saw Iran allowing inspectors and had stopped them from enriching uranium in weapons grade levels. Amature hour in foreign policy on full display. Countries don't simply back down because they are being attacked. This whole policy is silly and counter productive

The Iranian regime took action today to increase its uranium enrichment.  It was a mistake under the Iran nuclear deal to allow Iran to enrich uranium at any level.  There is little doubt that even before the deal’s existence, Iran was violating its terms.  We must restore the longstanding nonproliferation standard of no enrichment for Iran.  The United States and its allies will never allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

Maximum pressure on the Iranian regime will continue until its leaders alter their course of action.  The regime must end its nuclear ambitions and its malign behavior.

So the US pulls out of the deal. Iran threatens shipping in the ME. Iran tells world that if the US interferes they wipe Israel off the map. Liberals hate Israel. What’s the problem?  Liberal agendas are so confusing.

The countries that were also forced by Trump to basically abandon the deal? I think they understand this is all Trumps fault that Iran is making a nuclear bomb now. Those other countries tried staying in the deal but the Trump team threatened them with sanctions, too.

This is all Trumps mess

Here is an article on international reaction from May 8, 2019.  Not as straightforward as you make it out.

Note: Trump's overlord, Putin, agrees with you.

Trump pulled out of the deal. Trump is now complaing that Iran isn't staying in the deal. It really is that straight forward.

no.

Trump pulled out of a situation where we had international inspectors on the ground. Trump pulled out and is complaing that Iran won't stick to the Obama deal. Lol

Trump really screwed up. He deserves to get voted out of office

Perhaps related to the Pence story?

If there's a rescue operation in progress, then it certainly could be. Tom (maybe Sherpa) would know more about the Kursk incident, but we tried to rescue them once before but were denied (that's what Hunt for Red October was based on). Putin might be more amenable to a joint rescue op.

*************

But this also is happening. Note the second tweet -- nothing to be alarmed about yet.

But smells like something was stopped in progress... or something is about to go off.

That's a great bumper sticker.

Maybe a t-shirt.

Also, when you go to the D Convention next year, you can make a placard and wave it around.

Definitely a nuclear sub... just not a missile boat (from what they say at least).

It's not.  It's one of a handful of goofy special submarines that exist world-wide, for seabed work.  The US used to have a similar one - one of Rickover's pet projects - but it was smaller (crew of 4) and I'm pretty sure has been retired since.

It's probably completely unarmed - would be in the US Navy, but the Russians think differently.

FLOTUS's plane just took off from DC too...

If they're moving people around to secure locations it sure seems like there's some sort of active threat against the US gov't and personnel...

(IF -- too early to tell, but lots of things happening over the past hour and half that should draw our attention)

Had some fun discussions on that one at the time, especially learning the tidbit that if Soviet torpedoes were peroxide powered, their effectiveness would degrade during the sub's deployment.

Something tells me to avoid mass transit hubs this week

This is a whole lot of nothing.  Building security has no alerts, and they definitely would.  If something of this magnitude were really happening, I'd see pairs of guards in body armor carrying loaded M-4s patrolling the block (which I've seen before, for much less).

This is probably a dumb question, but if there were an alert in your building, would it be frowned upon for you to make that information public?
