NFL Ref Inconsistentcy

The field goal sequence should be investigated for a gambling fix. Holding the ball until the 5 sec mark is an obvious opportunity to influence the betting lines not to mention the failure to call the proper penalty but that was a crew decision as anyone could have flagged that. The time sequence is one person and he must be owned by a gambling syndicate.

I agree.

If in fact what I am reading/hearing is true-

Sherman's hit on the kicker was legal and finishing a play (clearly a "killed" play as the official has admitted)

Sherman's hit on the last play of the game was a legal play- (QB out of the pocket)

Then this now needs to be taught:

1. On any critical kick attempt deliberately go offsides, ignore the whistle and wreck the kicker> Just "finishing".

2. On any play where a QB leaves the pocket wreck any receiver with any cheap shot necessary.

It's a whole new ball game!

Seahawks fans sure think the roughing the kicker was a good play by Sherman. "He touched the ball so it's ok"

That wasn't even the worst part though.

The Bills still made the FG and it got taken off the board for delay of game. The officials put the ball down with 5 seconds left on the play clock and were still between the OL and DL with 3 seconds left on the play clock.

The league office even said last night on one of the post game shows that if the ball gets put down with less than 20 seconds it should have been reset and it was a mistake. They admitted both that and the roughing the kicker call should have been made.

I love the apologies for mistakes, like it does any good after the fact.

Unsportsmanlike conduct on Robert Woods?! LOL what a joke...

Among others. You would almos think they were purposely trying to throw this game. Eff the NFL. Shermans bull **** play on the field goal. Is one of the worst calls of the year. Even the league office agreed that play was the wrong call. Then getting called for delay of game was even worse. Sherman will get a 20K fine at least. Big deal.

They had on Ryan Clark on the Mike N Mike show this morning and he is defending the Sherman "block".. He claims the whistle blew so late he was already in the act of blocking the kick.. He blamed it on the refs for not stopping the play earlier. but really, no matter how it gets spun, Sherman's play was unnecessary roughness. Same thing as when other players on a field shove someone or dive into a pile after a whistle. it wasn't dirty IMO but it was definitely unnecessary and late. Easy call and that would've prevented all the nonsense of the delay of game and ref standing over the ball till 4 seconds on the clock.

Notice how Woods is open for the game winning score. Not for long and it was an open then closed small window.

The good QBs zip that ball in there with anticipation and then no one is talking about Powell.

It demonstrates Tyrod's weaknesses to a "T" and why it is tough to win certain types of games with a QB like that.

Regarding the foul: the funny thing is Sherman hit Powell before Tyrod was at the outer limit of his scramble, so he was not as far "out of the pocket" as some would suggest at the time of contact.

Secondly, Sherman did not look in that direction to see if Tyrod had thrown the ball or clearly left the pocket. I think he just decided to step up and pancake Powell, and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah to the bolded, his fatal flaw. Unfortunately he can't anticipate and throw, he has to see it. By the time he sees it...too late.

The hit...cheap for sure. Penalty maybe because of the way it was inflicted. Not that it matters, but, I'd question whether Sherman even saw Taylor leave the pocket.

The play was illegal because he knocked down a WR who was not looking/defenseless. It's not the same as illegal contact/QB out of pocket. That play is never legal because of what he did. It is why Crack blocks are illegal. The NFL is trying to get rid of these plays. He didn't just put his hands on him. It was away from the play! They are trying to eliminate all of these hits. Well I guess for other teams.

Extra 3 points on the board means FG ties the game and we go to OT worst case. It also changes play calling on other drives where maybe we would have settled for a FG. So yes they cost us the game. Shouldn't have mattered if Tyrod knew how to finish which he has literally never done

Go watch the Titans game from last year and get back to us.... Edited by Webster Guy

Play calling was awful. Bizarre.

Fire the RB coach...I mean "the Offensive Coordinator".

O-line stunk it up all game. TT bailing them out on every pass play.
