Flabbergasting Stat

Recommended Posts

Tom Brady has 297 fewer passing yards than Tyrod Taylor - in four fewer games. There is a pretty good chance that Brady will pass Tyrod's season yardage total on Sunday.

I don't know about that.

Yes, the stat is crazy, but the idea that he stands a good chance to out-pace Tyrod's yardage total by 297 yards seems unfounded. Even if Tyrod throws for 100 yards, which would be his lowest passing yardage total of the season, Brady would need to put up 398 yards on Buffalo's defense.

Is it possible? Sure, and that's the crazy part. Is it likely? No.

While some say this is unfounded... Brady threw for 466 yards against Rex Ryan's defense in that 2015 first game and set a Bills franchise-worst amount of passing yards to a single player while doing it.

Given that without LeSean McCoy that the Bills didn't even attempt to run very much last week against a Miami defense that was 30th in rushing yards allowed (Bills rushing 22 for 67). The 2016 NE Patriots defense is 11th in rushing yards allowed and #4 in overall points allowed and #14 in overall yards allowed. Meanwhile, Buffalo is 20th in overall total defense.

Currently, the Patriots have the #5 team in total offense (yards) Buffalo is 22nd overall in offense and 30th in passing.

Should the Bills not establish a strong run game against NE I can see the Bills defense out on the field all game just like we all saw against the NY Jets in week two. Jets ToP 39:12 vs 20:48 Buffalo (Fitz 374 yards passing) and against Miami ToP 37:02 vs 22:58 Buffalo. While we watched the Dolphins rush for 256 yards and Ajayi had 214 by himself and with a total of 454 yards to the smelly 2-4 fish.

If McCoy can't do his Barry Sanders impressions this week I can see Brady having a field day against the Bills defense this game...

Yeah but Brady won't pass his 271 rushing yards

Patriots are a throwing team, Bills are a running team.

Exactly right.

And one of the reasons the Pats are throwing team is because they have arguably the best QB of all time.

We all agree that it would be awesomely helpful if Tyrod became a better QB. But comparing his passing output to Brady's is fairly meaningless.

Whats flabbergasting is that you started two threads less than an hour apart with the same flabbergasting info.

Just flabbergasting!

That is usually true, this year they have been a rather surprisingly balanced team. (Blount already has more TDs this year than any other year in his career. But comparing Brady to Taylor isn't fair. Brady is one of the GOAT and I will dare say Tyrod Taylor is not. (Doesn't make him awful either but unfair to compare)
