seriously? what would your reaction been if Bills did that?

well, the price would have been scrutinized and Whaley's sanity would have been questioned. Thing is though that kicker Could be one of the best kickers picked since the raiders grabbed the polish cannon. That kid, will win some big games if he pans out. and for many years. It's a physically low stress position. janikowski is entering his 16th or 17th season now. most games played by any Raider. And is still money. i rememeber when he was picked in round one the Raiders were laughed at. it worked. i wish the Bills could have got this kid in the 4th. If not just for freeing up a game day roster spot. Screw this ' kicking specialist' stuff. I never thought anyone would pay that price for him, but he was never going to last into the late rounds. maybe kickbacks being placed at the 25 this year will change the philosophy of having to kick deep in the end zone. the average kickoff runback is less than 25 yards. in the least the Bills need a guy who can nail PAT's. IMO Carp will be their kicker again this year. In the least they need to get him some competition.

In today's NFL, that PK may see more snaps per game than a LB that can't play in the nickel or dime defenses.

A kicker sees probably 10 snaps a game if you include XP and kickoffs. You're not supposed to DRINK the bong water, bud.

Love the Ragland pick. Not sure why bills had to give up 2 round 4 picks

If you use the trade value chart, the difference between 41 and 49 is 80 points. #117 is worth 60. Their 5th is worth 28.6, so they could have offered that but then they only would have had the two 6ths today.

Offering up a 4th from next year doesn't hurt so much when you have time to get it back. Maybe deal a player who doesn't have a role any more but would fit well elsewhere. Maybe use the 2017 5th they got for Cassel as part of a deal to recoup a 2017 4th. There's time and options.

If you look at the Bills draft history since 2000 in the fourth round it's pretty underwhelming. Don't think they gave up as much as people think. Ragland was projected to go as high as 12. If the Bills got that level of player the deal will turn out to be a no brainer. We now have a group that looks much more suited to run Ryan's defense. I think this was a great move.

Guys, the local sports radio in Tampa calling it the "WTF" pick. I was shocked as Licht is a good GM coming from Arizona where he built a great team out West. The argument that you have a stud K who could be there for 15 years is fine, but front office changes and easy to try and save money after his rookie contract and cut a kicker. I thought it was foolish. I would never take a K before the 4th round.

As to Ragland, it bugs me when people from we "gave up a 2nd, and two 4ths". No, we swapped our 2nd round pick. We didn't give up a 2nd, so bottom line is we gave up two 4th round picks. Considering we have a 4th in compensatory, and we'll get another 4th in compensatory picks next year for Bradham makes it palatable to me.

If your someone who doesn't like Ragland thinking he's only a two down back, I can accept that argument. I disagree I believe the Bills staff can work with him in pass coverage and keep him nice and lean.

Actually, I just looked at the list and the last 8 fourth rounders are/were all pretty solid contributors, which is more than you can say for the last 7 second rounders. Cockerel was cut but he now starts for Pittsburgh, and the Bills took him one pick before Martavis Bryant. There is plenty of talent in the fourth round. This franchise continues to not get it. Who doesn't like a 258lb ILB who runs a 4.6 and whose play reminds people of Ray Lewis? 4th rnders come and go so I agree.

How much did you drink before you made this post?

Good thoughts. I didn't think of it that way.

Cheers!

dont forget whenever a team trades away a pick for up coming year that pick isnt valued the same as current year..so the 4th the Bills traded from 2017 isnt valued as an actual 4th right now...I hope that made sense lol
