Liberal Protests

Not quite a "protest", but I think it fits here..................Liberal narrative and all

Voter ID law upheld in North Carolina. AGAIN.

You would think that eventually the Left would stop trying to get Voter ID declared unconstitutional – but they don’t, bless their hearts. Perhaps they can’t. It might be a compulsion, is what I’m saying.

In this particular case, the federal judge was pretty comprehensive about smacking down the plaintiffs; Thomas Schroeder ruled that opponents of Voter ID failed to demonstrate any kind of harm from the North Carolina law.

Also, you know it’s bad when Politico dryly reports:

“The plaintiffs “failed to show that such disparities will have materially adverse effects on the ability of minority voters to cast a ballot and effectively exercise the electoral franchise” as a result of the 2013 state law, Schroeder wrote. That argument was made more difficult after black voter turnout increased in 2014, he wrote.”

Then again, opposition to voter ID has always been a, if you’ll pardon the pun, distinctly minority opinion in the United States – including among minorities.

This is one of those situations where’s it’s trivially easy to argue the pro-Voter ID position: We require a photo ID for almost everything else in this country, but we shouldn’t require one to vote?

It doesn’t help the Left either that their argument assumes a rather insulting and paternalistic attitude towards minorities; contrary to the official opinion of the Democratic party, your average black or Hispanic voter is perfectly capable of getting a valid photo ID on his or her own… and in fact, most of them manage to, even without the heavy-handed hand of progressives to give them a helping finger.

So, smart call by the judge, there. Bit of a foregone conclusion, though. I mean, Voter ID is pretty mainstream these days.

I particularly love how stupid progressives sound when, in one moment, they argue it's 'just too difficult' for adult minorities to acquire a photo ID, and in the next moment argue that even a child can legally buy an automatic weapon online.

They argue that men are, generally, abusive to women in the way they are treated, hired, and paid, and the best way to ensure that men stop being abusive to women is to ensure it's perfectly okay for the men to use the women's public bathroom and showers.

They argue that we need to boycott and fine companies who treat gays poorly, but argue you must not boycott and fine companies who openly do business in countries where gays are hung in the public square.

The party of gatorman. In all its glory.

They'll never stop - it's their M.O. Just keep on protesting the same thing over and over and over, continue making it a ballot issue, continue accusing opponents of racism/sexism/whateverism until they eventually get their way. It's what they always do.

Hell, Maryland and Virginia are letting convicted felons vote now. #DesperationDems

What's truly asinine about this is Terry McAuliffe arguing that he's allowed to do this, because he's just pardoning them all to restore their rights. Except their right to gun ownership, that's still suspended under the law.

So it's not actually a pardon, it's McAuliffe deciding to change the law and pretending it's a pardon.

Irony continues to be lost on the (professional) Left.

Didn't the whole "Trump's a racist" thing start because he said some Mexicans were violent?

They sure showed him..........

Hundreds of Mexican flag-waving demonstrators smash up a squad car, punch a Donald supporter and scuffle with riot police amid angry scenes.

Rod Dreher writes:

When a guy running for president can’t speak to his supporters without opponents staging a near-riot outside, throwing rocks at passing motorists and vandalizing police cars, it makes you wonder if he doesn’t have a point about how the country is going downhill.
We cannot have a country where violent mobs no-platform political candidates. Period.

Meanwhile, Hot Air’s Larry O’Conner notes how the story is being reported by the American press:

“This was not a ‘protest,’ this was a riot. But, you’ll barely hear the media describing it that way.”

Read the whole thing, which quotes from L.A. Times and Washington Post reporters (read: Democrat activists with bylines) at their most Orwellian.

Beating people to silence them.

Sending the IRS after people to silence them.

Boycotting states to silence them.

Blocking entrances to seminars to silence them.

Blocking highways to disrupt traffic to silence them.

The left sure has a problem when it comes to anyone offering a differing opinion.

But...you know...tolerance, amirite?

Because frantic adherence to their dogma places them above the law. Just ask them.

This is the good kind of protesting that people like Nancy Pelosi wholeheartedly approve of.

Established voters going to their Senator and Congressional representative's town halls and asking pointed questions... not so much. That's despicable and akin to terrorism and anarchy.

The left is very tolerant, as long as they agree with what you say.

They are giant hypocrites but no one in the media ever calls them out on it. It's pathetic.

If the shoe were on the other foot, this would be called "terrorism."

Only if you are a white, christian, gun owning, America loving veteran. Then the administration classifies you as a potential domestic terrorist.

Answer.....................................never
When Do Violent Anti-Trump Protesters Turn Into a Major Story?
No, really, media, you have to start asking questions about the atmosphere of violence and fascism that is cultivated by . . . anti-Trump protesters.
Police in riot gear and mounted patrol units faced off against a violent crowd of protesters outside a Donald Trump campaign event in Albuquerque Tuesday night. Hours after Trump and some 4,000 of his supporters left the Albuquerque Convention Center, approximately 100 demonstrators remained in downtown. Smoke grenades were used in an effort to disperse the crowd, while protesters threw rocks, plastic bottles, burning T-shirts and other items at officers

WHO CAUSED LAST NIGHT’S ANTI-TRUMP RIOTS?

“Republican Dan Lewis, the President of the Albuquerque City Council issued this statement,” Larry O’Connor writes at Hot Air today. Here is Lewis’s statement:

“The violence that we’re seeing this evening is absolutely unacceptable, and it is not the fault of Donald Trump, his campaign, or the attendees at the rally this evening. It is directly the result of so called public interest groups, such as ProgressNM and the Southwest Organizing Project, fomenting hate. These organizations this evening devolved from community action groups to hate groups by every usual measure. This was not a protest – it was a riot that was the result of a mob trying to cause damage and injury to public property and innocent citizens exercising their constitutional right to peaceably assemble.”

“Thank you,” O’Connor adds. “And the statement from local Democrats? Can’t find one.” Well, other than their operatives with bylines at CNN, who describe last night’s riot as a mere “scuffle.”

Here’s an AP photo of the Albuquerque PD’s anti-scuffle brigade, who would eventually fire smoke grades (and according to some reports, pepper spray) at the mostly peaceful scufflers. Many more dramatic photos of the scuffle at Hot Air.

trump_albuquerque_riot_5-25-16-1.jpg

Liberals will try to imply that violence by anti-Trump rioters is somehow Trump’s fault, but they can’t sell that theory.

Most people dislike riots and rioters just as much today as they did in 1968. Trump has risen to the top of the political heap in large part because of the enemies he has made. During the primaries, the more he was denounced by liberal reporters, the more votes he got. The same will happen in the general election if voters see that he is besieged by left-wing rioters.”

ADDED: further examples........

"Protesters Throw Rocks at Police Horses Outside Trump Rally in Albuquerque."

That NYT headline should make it clear that the protesters were anti-Trump protesters. In fact, there's close to nothing in the text of the whole article that specifies who the protesters were

Of course people are entitled to their opinions, and my opinion is that these people are bitter, spiteful, hateful, socialist-communist, bought-and-paid-for losers, and more of a threat to the nation than any politician out there.
